Don't Worry, Be Happy

First of all he's illegal and undocumented, I know Iranians are used to breaking laws but at least don't consider this a bad thing. This kid's parents are at fault for walking across the border illegally when education is available back in Afghanestan.

Plus, he's not missing anything, I spent a million years in schools including two highschool diplomas from Iran and, trust me, Iran's lower education is nothing but theories and brain-attack, at least now this kid learns to make honest living through hard work.

Here in America an uneducated plumber or AC-repairman makes equal to or more than a doctor, the only advantage to being a doctor is the chance to marry an image-worshiping North-Tehran Iranian girl!

Article 25 of the 1951 Geneva Convention relating to status of refugees which I assume Iran is a signatory of
Subsection 2 'The authority....shall deliver under their supervision refugees such documents or certifications as would normally be delivered to aliens by or through their national authorities'.
Other Articles relating to right of Education and Public Education Article 21 and 22 respectively.

Can't this case be considered indictable under the international law?..........Would someone, push the nukes' forlorn dossier to the side for now, to take up this seemingly criminal case?

Even with the "card"

by Ari Siletz on

Undocumented Afghan kids who have received "bargeh khorooj" (I suppose this means deportation order) can be registered in school until they leave the country. Those without "bargeh khorooj" like the child above are in limbo.

More info hrere.

The article mentions that proverty prevents even documented Afghan kids from attending school as they must work to survive, especially after basic commodities are no longer subsidized. The aid given to the poor to offset the new free market prices do not cover Afghans.

Some estimate that there are 400,000 Afghan kids in Tehran.

Agreed!

by jirandoust on

I second that, Divaneh!

It's one thing to discreminate against their Afghani brothers and sisters. It is beyond shameful not to allow a child to go to school and be a child... because his parents lack some "documents"? Shameful, indeed!

shame on you. Shame on a state that betrays its own people. Afghans and Iranians are the same people. It was painful to watch.
