Saeed Mortazavi: Disgraced Former Prosecutor Keeps Job

Will remain as head of Social Security Organization, VP says

Tehran Times: Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi said on Wednesday that the Administrative Court of Justice’s decision to revoke the appointment of former Tehran prosecutor general Saeed Mortazavi as director of the Social Security Organization will not be implemented. The Social Security Organization is a social and non-governmental organization, Rahimi said, adding that he does not think that the court’s decision can be upheld. The court revoked Mortazavi’s appointment on Monday after investigating the complaints lodged by a number of MPs in the previous parliament who hold him partly responsible for the Kahrizak incident, in which three inmates died >>>
