Satrapi's "Chicken with Plums" Opens in US

Interview

Coming Soon: In 2008, artists Marjane Satrapi and Vincent Paronnaud teamed up to adapt Satrapi's autobiographical graphic novel Persepolis about her life growing up in Iran, a film that received a lot of attention for its cleverness and ingenuity as well as receiving an Oscar nomination in the animated category. For their follow-up, they decided to tackle Satrapi's 2004 graphic novel Chicken with Plums, but in order to not repeat themselves, they decided to bring it to life as a live action film >>>

wonderful piece of arts

by radius-of-the-persian-cat on

Marjane Satrapis newest movie is a great piece of cinemtography arts, combining magic realism with humour and a very personal authentic story. It does not denounce any political or religious group, and therefore it will always keep its great human value. It has a message that is beyond the daily political news, and I would have wished that she is awarded more prestigious prices than the Prix du meilleur album. "Chicken with Plums" is one of the few movies I'd like to watch again and again.

I Knew It And I Was Right!...

by Piyalechi on

I had imagined that she would be, and she is.

Marjane, that is.

She is absolutely one of the most phenomenally fascinating people that I finally had the pleasure of seeing and listening to!

I had been wanting to hear what she herself has to say and how she says it, ever since I came into contact with her works...

I can't wait to see the movie.

I know it will be awesome!

Noush!....

Awfully Boring Lady!

by Demo on

The interview is not only too long, it is quite boring. She speaks with a terrible Engish accent which makes listening to her nonsense even more unbearable, & leaves the impression that the movie is of no good!
