click2houston.com: A woman was found shot and killed in her vehicle near the Galleria early Monday. Houston police said the shooting happened on August Drive near Sugar Hill Drive early Monday. According to investigators, someone walked up to the passenger's side of 30-year-old Gelareh Bagherzadeh's car and shot her in the head. Bagherzadeh's body was found inside her running car, which crashed into a garage, detectives said. "We don't know if she was being followed at the time," Sgt. Richard Bolton said. Officers said Bagherzadeh's ex-boyfriend was on the phone with her when he heard what may have been the crash and gunshots. "He said she screamed for her life," said Lorena Lopez, one of Bagherzadeh's close friends. "He heard screeching and he assumed it was a car accident." The ex-boyfriend was questioned, but is not considered a suspect >>> watch video

by MRX1 on Tue Jan 17, 2012 12:37 PM PSTSo are we making an assumption that IRI goon or goons are loose some where in U.S? Then every one's life is in danger and whose to say alireza pahlavi was not murdered by one of these peacefull loving followers of islam nabe mohammadi?

by vildemose on Tue Jan 17, 2012 12:23 PM PSTDear AO and VPK:I have a question on the BASiji Chemist bizarre assassination given that Iran is essentially a police state now: The Iranian regime is able to capture the so-called "CIA" spies left and right, yet it is unable to stop nuke scientist killers?

by Arthimis on Tue Jan 17, 2012 12:15 PM PSTFirst of all this is a very sad and shocking news!! May this young lady's soul Rest In Peace and condolences to her family, loved ones and all Iranian people.
Who would commit such a criminal act and for what reason??? It's clear now that she was not killed for money or hijaking her car... So judging by the professional execution of this criminal act, it leaves no other possibility other than an assassination!
Now, WHY ?? Who was she (with all due respect...) ? What was her level of activity and against whom? If she was an activist against I.R. then she must have been an important key or cell that was identified by the I.R. intelligence to carry out such a criminal act!!!
Beyond whatever investigation in process, I believe it is our collective National (and human) Duty to make a petition and demand an investigation into this matter!! This crime happened in Houston, TX and on United States Soil and FBI and all Law Enforcements must find the criminal/s behind this evil act , bring them to justice and give a proper answer to her family and all Iranians as why and by which criminal entity this poor young girl was killed by and what for???
VPK - about "peace lovers," here's one of them

She met the "Iranian leadership" and was at Ahmadinejad's exclusive September, 2011 dinner party. That should tell you where she's coming from. Oh, also, she is planning to "occupy AIPAC." :-))
Wait a minute?
by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Tue Jan 17, 2012 11:46 AM PSTI have been consistent in requiring evidence before accusation. But when it came to the professor many people automatically accused Israel or USA. Now not one of them is accusing IRI.
Most of them do not even post to condemn this. I think the hypocrisy is self evident. No wonder when I hear "peace or human rights activist" I get a strong desire to vomit. Only ones that matter are Muslims or better Palestinians.
AO: In a haste of making a point...
by Bavafa on Tue Jan 17, 2012 11:35 AM PSTYou failed to check to see if I accused Israel of that assassination.
Despite much reports (including by American sources and not IRI) that has pointed at Israel, I have only condemned the act and explicitly said regardless of who carried it out, which will certainly include IRI if that turns to be an inside job.
Unlike some folks that here on IC that take IRI sources when it suites them, accept any accusation against IRI with the greatest confidence yet will not take any thing that points finger at US/Israel, I try to be more judicious and unbias in making my judgment.
Just in case you were wondering why I ask for facts base as oppose to rhetoric, statement like this help creating a perception that you are more into rhetoric then facts.

Just curious. Don't want to have double standards here now.
Vildemose jaan: do you have a link or information...
by Bavafa on Tue Jan 17, 2012 11:06 AM PSTthat suggest this maybe politically motivated killing? The type of crime seems like a professional type, an assassination perhaps. But I rather go with credible information rather rumors and guess work on IC that will only create unfounded fear and make a tabloid out of IC.

My condolences to the family and friends of this young lady. I hope police catch the murderer and bring him to justice, swift and decisively, Texas style....

If it was IRI agents and that is a big if they need to know this is not Europe. Here we do have the death penalty and GITMO. I am not a supporter of them but they are there. And an IRI goon will find out about them in person.
