Otherwise no way in the world would have turned to a totalitarian regime as we have 2500 years history of such. It is therefore necessary for any of the ignorants commentators below to realize that the regime loves for the world to blame Islam & Koran instead of any of its known criminals acting under banner of the religion.
Just think about it a minute. Who in the world did give the Molla Khomeini autority to come up with the superficial label of 'Islamic Republic?' He, himself! Koran does not authorize such at all. The self denial is the Isalm foundation. Do we have such understanding in Iranian regime? Khomeini wanted to be the Shah himself. That is why he first printed his picture on the Iranian currency as with the former Kings. But that currency is worthless now! That is how GOD operates as time has no meaning to him!

Drinking wine next to Ghoran as an act of protest, is almost like that statement by Faataaneh (LA singer of last decades), claiming her singing and dancing and sheer enjoyment was an act of protest and struggle against IR (which to an extent it is). But that's really pushing it.
