The part that doesn't make sense is that if she so vividly, and with such detail, remembers living in Iran, and all the horrible things that happened to her there - then why doesn't she remember how to pronounce the place correctly?  "Iran" and not "Eye-Ran"? That's when I tuned out. No-one said "Eye-Ran" 700 years ago.
