Treatment of Baha'is at the time of Shah
by stavackoli on Wed May 23, 2012 07:39 PM PDTJust to clarify a point, please do not believe everything you hear. I am a Baha'i who grew up in Iran at the time of Shah and was there for five years after the revolution. As the Persian saying goes, Baha'is were treated like the chicken in weddings and funerals alike. Not only did we not get treated with "special care" during the time of shah, it is very well documented that we were mistreated then as well as now; our school which was by far the most advanced school at its time was closed by shah's father (School of Tarbiyat), our place of worship in Tehran was destroyed by a representative from shah's army and some clergy (there are pictures that show this clearly), people's shops were routinely raided and destroyed at the time of shah and even during the short reign of Mossadegh, school children were (myself included) interrogated and put through humiliating debates in classrooms on a regular basis; and why? because we were Baha'is. Yes, Baha'is were not executed and put in jail, does that mean they were treated with "special care"? I hope all of the people who think we were treated with "special care" during the time of Shah, get treated with the same kind of "special care" at some point during their lives so they can get a taste. Are blacks being treated with "special care" in the US just because they are not being openly discriminated against?
Please investigate the truth for yourselves before believing things you hear, the discrimination against the Baha'is for the past 160 years is well documented for those who want to investigate things without bias.

by Datis on Thu May 17, 2012 06:23 AM PDTWith all respect for Nourizad as a very nice person; in fact too nice like most Bahaies I have met, I think he lives on cloud cuckoo land! Khamenei is behind all crimes committed in Iran, so would he really take Nourizad's advice? He has tried this before with all those letters that he sent to Khamenei from inside Evin. Did he take any of his advice on board?
Mr. Nourizad, As Mr Gates
by Kooshan on Wed May 16, 2012 09:41 PM PDTMr. Nourizad,
As Mr Gates says: We do not pick in which situation to be born, but how we live is all up to us!
Bahayees were treated with special care during Shah. Naturally, they have lost a lot. This is the nature of any political system, even in democratic countries....more or less. Example: Haliberton making B's of $ out of Iraq war.
On the other hand, I consider Bahayees to be treated like any other Iranian citizen for basic rights.
Not Very Deep
by ghalam-doon on Wed May 16, 2012 03:43 PM PDTBut I guess he speaks in a language that Khamenei understands, assuming Khamenei will ever see this clip which I doubt very much.
Khamenei is a very depressed man. I don't remember the last time I saw him smiling. His doctors have told him to avoid depressing news as much as possible, like this clip.

afshinazadWed May 16, 2012 02:27 PM PDT
