"No one is executed in Iran for their political convictions"
Tehran Times: Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Larijani said on Wednesday that no one is executed in Iran for his/her political views and only major drug traffickers, murderers, armed robbers, and rapists are hanged in Iran. Larijani made the remarks in response to a report issued by Ahmed Shaheed, the UN special rapporteur on human rights in Iran. He added that some laws about the death penalty are not unique to Iran and all Muslims believe in them >>>

It is what happens when the people of a country listen to anti-monarchists like larijani or tudehs or mossadegollahis or A-tellectuals, who mis-represented the late shah and his team as dictators, killers, torturers, thieves, despots. And this was because they resented the shahs teams really positive results. The shame is the number of people of iran that allowed this despite the late shah being, though not elected, one of the most democratic leaders of the last century who helped iranians work together better, in order to create the largest percentage growth in middle class, growth of skills and education in the entire world, leaving the country with one of the most modern militaries, free education for all and the worlds 9th largest economy and growing. These were all dreams and aims of the vast majority of Iranians. Today Its good to hear of iranians within iran slowly gaining the understanding they will need to overcome their own errors, though seeing the pain and loss being inflicted on them is always sad.
