Cultural Poverty
by Shahriar on Wed Feb 20, 2008 11:55 AM PSTOur cultural poverty is manifesting itself more and more each day as the Iranian society goes down the spiral of despair and cultural deprivation.
One main manifestation of this poverty, is learning techniques in different art forms, copying (not interpreting) other artists, and show no sign of individuality or new ideas.
That's how we have many people who play an instrument these days but just a few are coming up with worthy compositions or even a good interpretation of other artists' songs.
Let's hope for better days.

Modigliani
by empty cans (not verified) on Tue Feb 19, 2008 05:10 PM PSTI guess you like Modigliani and a few others! Well, who can blame anybody for loving that artist. He had beautiful, signature interpretation of human form, and awesome, brilliant colors uniquely his.
.
I guess this is how it goes with most of these folks these days, ... something like this, .... they paint. Yek seri fak-o-famila, va doosta bah-bah va chah-chah mikonan, and they think,...vow, they're all artists!
.
It is hard to find voices that are true to themsleves these days, even amongst the art educated folks.

Not Bearing: Public Enemy # 1
by Abol|Hassan|Danesh (not verified) on Tue Feb 19, 2008 03:34 PM PSTI know Who My Enemy Is
Each
Man
Eventually dies
From something
But I know before hand
From what it is that I will die from
Yes it is nothing but from my own legs
Constantly nagging...
And instead of standing up to the challenge
Forcing my to sit down in a comfortable seat
Despite all the fresh blood it receives
On each of my pumping heart beat
Before everyone else in the membership list
Standing in line to get their share of food and oxygen
Yes my legs are my sworn to death enemy!
Not knowing though
Upon my death its own death will be an absolute certain!
