by Nazy Kaviani on Wed Aug 17, 2011 07:48 PM PDTDear Kind MPD:
Yes, it does look like a work of art, doesn't it? I really should start disowning my family slowly until Thanksgiving, so that I can accept Ziba's invitation for Thanksgiving dinner! I look forward to seeing you on Sunday!
Dear Vildi Jan:
Thank you for your very kind comment. Please promise you will catch Ziba Shirazi during one of her Story and Song performances if she comes near where you live (she travels extensively for this one-woman show), and then share your reflections on her with the rest of us. I just know you will agree with me about her! Thank you again.
Dear Dr. Saadat Nouri:
Thank you for visiting my humble offering and for your kind comment.

Beautiful Photo Essay, as usual,,,
by Multiple Personality Disorder on Wed Aug 17, 2011 09:37 AM PDTThe dinner table in picture #40 looks like a piece of art. If I were invited to that kind of a feast I wouldn't be able to make up my mind, whether to eat the food or keep on enjoying the beauty of the arrangement.
The last time Ziba Shirazi performed at the Iranian.com fundraiser I was there also, and you are right, there is something about her performance that makes me want to go back again. I'll make sure I won't miss the concert this Sunday either.
Thank you for this wonderful photo essay. The pictures, the interview, Ziba's outlook on life, and the storytelling are all excellent.

by Nazy Kaviani on Wed Aug 17, 2011 09:21 AM PDTAnahid Jan,
Thank you so much for your kind words! I think as an entertainer, Ziba's best characteristic is her stage presence. I'm so glad you have seen her on stage and can verify this! Thank you also for your encouraging words for me. Photo essays are a lot of work (a lot!). They take days to prepare and put together. I am so glad when I see them viewed and occasionally appreciated! Thank you!
Esfand Jan,
It was sharbat-e sekanjebin with cucumber grind! Yummy, I miss it already! That Faramarz Khodayari is such a good host! Thanks for visiting and always supporting me Esfand Jan.

thanks Nazy jan for writing about Ziba Shirazi
by Anahid Hojjati on Wed Aug 17, 2011 08:46 AM PDTZiba is so talented and so real. I first saw her performance in April 2009 Iranian.com concert and her performance was not only the best of performances that night but one of the best that I have seen from an Iranian artist in a concert. As you noted in your photo essay, she interacts very well with the audience. It was great to read how she got her start and how her career has progressed.
Dear Nazy, I love the photo essays that you do about musicians where you let us know how they have got to this stage of their career. Thanks so much for your photo essays.
