Rumi fans came from far and near, from San Francisco, and Los Angeles, to attend a concert with heavy weights of Persian/world music and performing artists at Sherwood Oaks auditorium in San Diego, on August 9th., to celebrate Rumi’s life and poetry. Saxophonist/song writer
Farzin Farhadi and his ensemble Rumination, performed songs from his album “The Beloved is Here” with mesmerizing vocals by fusion vocalist, and multi instrumentalist
Hamed Nikpay who also debuted songs from his new album “All is Calm”, enrapturing the audiences. World renowned vocalist and recoding artist
Sussan Deyhim, gave an intoxicating performance of songs old and new, east and west, and international dancer/choreographer
Shahrokh Moshkin Ghalam stunned audiences with his ecstatic dance performances. The artistic declamation of Rumi’s poetry by Roxana Rastegar throughout the concert, made this spectacular event rightfully deserving of Rumi. Wish you were there!
Nice.

Thanks Navid.
Thanks
by Nazy Kaviani on Sun Aug 17, 2008 03:26 PM PDTThanks for sharing the photos, Navid. How I wished I could be there to see all these fine artists onstage at the same time. Farzin Farhadi is an amazing composer and his vision for Rumi-Nation is really a wonderful one. I am glad all these wonderful artists helped him pull it off, from what I hear. I know the concert will come to the San Francisco Bay Area, too, but it won't have Shahrokh Moshkin Ghalam in it, so I'm really envious of all who could make it to the DC and San Diego performances! I hear the Hamed Nikpay/Shahrokh Moshkin Ghalam/Tabla segment of the performance brought the house down. Good for those in attendance. For now we enjoy your photographs, Navid! Thanks.
You said it PERFECTLY! It was a GREAT show
