Photo essay: Birds in nature, cities and zoos

by Parviz Forghani
28-Nov-2011

Birds are always fascinating to me, though photographing them is literally a pain in the neck, but I enjoy that pain! Most of the photos are taken in open spaces except a few which are in sanctuaries and zoos. I have tried my nest of knowledge to insert the name of the birds on the photos, however some of them were beyond my knowledge.

Thank you so much Parviz for the wonderful album.

Your #54 is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen of a Mallard.

In case you are as fascinated by their communication as I am, enjoy: //www.natureskills.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/Bird_Language_Birds_to_Know.pdf

Can you start the most virulent political arguments with bloody blows by an opposing side, then both of you will stop and pause to admire the beauty of nature!

Akheysh! How lovely!

Thanks for the much needed break.

Lovely photos.

Never seen an American robin before, surprised me somewhat. Must say, the European one is much cuter than its American cousin.

You cheered me up with your beautiful selection of birdy pics. They are all so lovely, especially number 22, 63 and 76. Made me smile.
