by DJ Beshkan (not verified) on Sun Apr 12, 2009 06:53 PM PDTThis 13bedar was the best!! 10,500 people came according to the Iranian newspaper. Good job to DJ Beshkan for putting this together. Same thing next year ;)

by Norooz (not verified) on Wed Apr 08, 2009 04:23 PM PDTIt is not part of the Iranian "culture" because Iranians (in Iran) generally look for Iranians and don't have any other "choices".
I think it is mostly the American part of our culture as Iranian-Americans and the general stereotypes of Iranian families about "good" girls and "loose" boys.
Anyway, they learn more later in their late 20s or 30s about Iranians being just as "regular" as themselves. I'm not sure there is anything we can do about it earlier.

I think 13 bedar is the only
by Norooz (not verified) on Tue Apr 07, 2009 09:40 AM PDTI think 13 bedar is the only day young Iranian boys and girls in their teens and 20s notice each other.
The rest of the year they just ignore each other and stereotype as they gossip with their friends.
The rest of the year they think it is easier or somehow better to date a non-Iranian since they've already "figured them out" ;-)
Black Hills

No matter what park anyone was at- there was much false advertising saying black hills was closed- it wasn't just there was no DJ Beshkan.
So many pretty girls, oh my...
