If your verbal abuses were targeted at me, I am very sorry to have upset you. I am from a very humble peasant background and very proud of it. In fact, I quite liked the front picture of that charming peasant lady whom you thought was your aunt. The picture reminded me of that iconic picture of a young green eyed Afghani woman which once furnished the front cover of the National Geographical Magazine. As there was no theme in the presentation of the pictures, I lightly commented on a few pictures to do with food and its presentations and I also commented on how poverty stricken the country was despite being blessed with an abundance of natural and human resources.
You were quite right in your assertion that I ‘don't even know what God is’. I don’t do God and I am not ashamed of it. My poor peasant moselm parent were gracious enough to accept and respect my right in not believing in God at tender age of 13.

I agree with you that it is not right to judge people by their clothing!
Thank you and take care!
To whom w/big heads: You are disgrace to all decent Iranians!!
by obama on Wed May 05, 2010 06:42 PM PDTWho do you really think you are criticizing these decent, hard working, beautiful, loving human beings? You probably only lived in your own little shallow, corrupt, and indecent world of luxory! You should be ashamed of yourselves! KHODETOON CHEH GOHI HASTID? TAAZEH BEDORAN RESIDEH-HA!
I'd say, you are not only an Iranian, not a moslem, a jew, a christian, a hindu, a bahai, you have never smelled humanity and integrity! You can only judge people by their clothing! I'd much rather sleep in the same tent, or desert with these people than any of you who are trying to degrade these people!
They are all God's children! Of course, you don't even know what God is, so I am not surprised!
These people have something that you never had - SHARAF! shame on you for being so prejudice against your own people! Where the hell do you think your ancestors came from? Tajrish? Tajrish was a village too! You remind me of those who live in a bubble! SHALLOW PEOPLE! DAMAGH SARBALAYEE! Go enjoy an POSE BEDEH your fancy cars and clothes, and all the material things, since that's how deep you are! GOOD RIDEN TO YOU!
Don't dare talking about Hafez o sadi or any persian philosophers! Since you are not worthy of it! KESAFATA!
Don’t know what to make of these pictures

I really don’t know what to make of these pictures. I don't want to be critical of the photographer who portrayed the ugly aspects of the life as it is in that beloved country of ours - sadly very tacky and often inelegant, especially in preparation and presentation of food. I didn’t enjoy looking at these pictures, some i found quite ugly and somehow revolting. That plate of rice, bread, spaghetti, meat and a few other things looked more fit for a dog than a human being - not very pleasing to eye. Looking at these pictures sadly reminded me, yet again, that we are a third world country and will remain so for many generations to come.

by obama on Tue May 04, 2010 08:00 PM PDTHi Yolanda, as shirazis might say YOLANDU.
thank you for the quick response! You should be designated as IC patrol! if she is nomad, then she probably is ghashghii; then it couldn't be my aunt since she lives in a large village! Unbelievable the similarity! Well, at least you saw my aunt's photo! Thanks for the links! Very helpful!

by yolanda on Tue May 04, 2010 06:40 PM PDTHi Obama,
Wow! I am glad you recognized your aunt! I don't think the photographer visits IC, you have to contact the photographer thru the photo site. There are a lot more beautiful photos in the original website, your aunt is in the category of nomads:
