Ahmad Kavousian was born in a small town in Iran in the year 1948. As a student of architecture attending Iran’s National University, he discovered what would become his true artistic expression; the amazing world of photography. I could have looked at another 100 of your pictures and still asked for more.

I specially loved the ones of the people and their faces. Each face is dying to sit you down and tell you a story. Just wonderful. Thank you.

I don’t know what it is about Ahmad's black-and-white photos,  they appear so real and yet surreal.  Hats off to him  - what a refreshing and welcoming change from the usual JJ’s holiday snapshots!

43, 52 and 60 are among my favorites.

(#93 is too claustrophobic for me, looking at it long enough would bring me back my asthma attacks.... Cannot believe i disagree with Azadeh Azad :)

There's an old Wim Wenders movie

shot in black and white called The State of Things (Der Stand Der Dinge). in which a film cast and crew stranded in some godforsaken place in Portugal wait around listlessly for money that never seems to come to buy more film to finish the project. In it, a tough old veteran camera man named Joe says thoughtfully in perfect Brooklynese, 'Life is in color but black and white is more realistic'.

But here it isn't even only the black and whites. If an alien got hold of that catalog, its impression of humanity would be incredibly true. And it would respect us for our courage and quest for wisdom and beauty and our great nobility of spirit. And tell its leader to stop the plans to take us over as a slave colony.

Transcendent. One of the best things here ever. Das Ding an sich.

(And Ben said he and I would never be able to enjoy art together. Turns out it's probably the only thing we ever will.  u never no. do u? lol).

Kavousian's work is amazing. Absolutely superb. If an alien got hold of his catalog, its impression of humanity would be incredibly dark and sad.
