I am Ali Baba Awrang. I was born in Jaghori district of Ghazni Province in Afghanistan. My real friends are bamboo and the arts. For 18 years I have immersed myself in the art of calligraphy. Thanks to HW for making this feature happen.

#2: Self portrait?

 

#4: Alef with a tashdid spelling out Allah. Strong spiritual statement.

 

#10: Lost a loved one?

 

#12: Falling letters imply gravity. We're in a semi-physical world, despite appearences. 

 

#19: Mindbending landscape. The word evokes the image and the image evokes the word in endless refection.

 

#20: Powerful image. Dots at extreme lower left and right seem redundant. Design would be even stronger without them.
