I think the "Has been" guy is right,Googoosh was a great singer for her time ,sexy and full of youth and "Jonbe o Joosh" which was great for 30+ years ago,I do not say she is not good but she has to let younger genetation to have the same opportunity.In Iran at that time there were not too many competitions, also she grew up as a child actress and singer in screen , She was hot first time she came out of Iran and everyone including me want to see her in concert,now I am thinking what to expect from a granma (MADAR BOZORG0).Is she pushing 60+ or so,is she in need of money or its just greed!!!!(how much is enough if she gets paid about $200000 per concert ,,How many more plastic surgary she would do till she realize it,we still love her ,but not as a HOT like a sexy diva.....let our good memories of her stays as it was once...("Has Been") is a fare statement..

I'll tell it you like it is : It is better to be an "HAS BEEN" than an "HAS NEVER BEEN" like all snob people how denied any popular Iranian to show they exist.

She is popular despite alll time passing and despite other young "singers" in Tehrangeles ! It is a fact. you want or not. Instead od denying and whining, try to figure out why ?

All I remember from Googossh was her First time interview with CNN ,when for first time she was allwed to travel out of Iran..
All I was waitting for this interview was to expose Iranian Regim in regards to How they treat women in Iran ,and just let the world know about Iranian women condition,,and women's freedom and so on..
Unfoutunaitly she did not mention a word about Iranian women in Iran ,even though she was supposedly in jail for a while(Tax fraud)..That was the only time world were listening to her and she preffered not to mention any world of Iranian women..I think she rather stay on business side of it and make as much advertinsing as she could for her future income,,,, for some kind of Icon this "I dont care attitude" was uncalled for....wake up L.A.

Googoosh concert in London

Hi

I went to Googoosh's concert in London last night and it was a brilliant performance. She is a true perf0rmer and a legendary singer. We all have memories with every one of her songs.
The show worked very well with both of them. Even people who were not Mehrdad fans ended up liking him by the end.

What ever her reasons are for linking up with him, Good for her. I wish her every success. Iranians have to learn to appreciate the assets we have instead of trying to discredit or insult them.

Her fans far out number her haters so if you don't like her you are in the minority. Do not insult your self by swearing or trying to judge her

she maybe a great artist but she has no class. how could a diva sing a duet with mehrdad? UGH
i have boycotted all her concerts for this reason only. they say she is on drugs and mehrdad prepares them for her. that is why she supports him and pollutes all her concerts with this guy. some other people say she is in love with that shit. if i had seven blind dahghters i would never let any of them to piss on mehrdad. i repeat. she is a good artist , on cabaret lever of course, but she is a bitch and she is no diva for sure.

We have to recognize and believe the power of artists and arts in every form and shape, (i.e singers, writers, painters, poets etc..)for emancipation of our country. In many cases, people listen to artists more than politician.
As Nazanin Afshiin Jams said in one of her recent interview in London "..people remember the name of Paris Hilton's dog but do not know the name of UN secretary.."
Anyone with good influence in Iranian people must be involve and be part of Iran's future. This is a duty.

Some days I wrote a paper about Gooze beh Shaghiogheh Che Rabti Dareh. It seems to me for you every thing (from gooz ou SHaghigheh ) should finish by a propaganda for IRI.

I don't undrestand what Shiraz Festivity has to do with googoosh today. Passing this Maurice Bejart created some piece during this time which still are celebrated as great works and remind Shiraz and Iran name to every body. Art don't have frontier. 

What is "Achieved during the last 30 years" is that the people cannot connect to Iranian.com from Iran because censorship ( I tried it by myself) and nobody talk about Iranian Culture nowhere in the world.

"They are ready to protect and defend" are only people who became rich durining these 30 years ! Nobody else defend this governement.

Only Achievement I saw in Iran was in the cimetery full of young and Khomeini Luxuary tombe ! I wonder if you travel to Iran some times ?

Let leave Googoosh out of all these stories. She lived in IRI during 20 years and now she is singing like a bird, just listen and dont judge her.

1. No she is not blond. But in the times of Taghut the actress who wanted to be "IN", who wanted to earn thier life on such away HAD to make herselves blond. In those days - they may never come back again inshalah - Iran imported about 400 Million Dollars Poison named make up.In the western world they have so often repeatted for the poeple living there "blond is beutifull" that they now are convinced it were so. I think what is "beutifull" depends on one`s taste. and the Western imperialism - I dare to say - makes TASTE MODELS and poeple DO HAVE TO CHOOSE ONE OF THEM. Looki for example in the United states how many afro-american girls colore thier hair and make thier hairs smooth. If one looks back in the late 6ties and 7ties nearly all iranian actresses were "blond". Arteficially.
2. many words about GOOGOOSH. I think an important remark is missed. that is the fact that not only googoosh but almost all poeple who were likewise in the artsbusieness had allways trouble with police, with courts and were most of the time liable to pay. GOOGOOSH for example had even once to leave the country just because of this point in order not to have to go to jail. It was at the beginning of 7ties. I wonder why nobody says a word to these problems. On the other side the SHAHBANU FARAH PAHLAVI velebrated yearly the SHIRAZ festivity. The europian and american musikers were invited to play and got best salaries. The festivities lasted seven days. It was only western classical musik to play and in the jury sat only none iranians. sometimes also some iraqnians but they were handled as none experts. all in one: I am happy for the Iranians - I mean the ones who have founded thier ISLAMIC REPUBLIC of IRAN, are living there and are ready to protect and defend what they have achieved during the last 30 years - that they have left those devilish times behind them. I am sorry but I never understood the obsession with this talentless over fifty year old HAG. Her voice is average at best...her dancing..not much to talk about. In her youth...she copied her fashion style and singing style from singers such as Blondie and ABBA so she is not even ORIGINAL.
