Photo essay: Flying over Half Moon Bay
Two weeks ago my pilot friend, Amir, and I flew over Half Moon Bay near San Francisco. I was able to take some photographs of the historical Pigeon Point Lighthouse. I had also visited it on New Year’s Day. This is one of the most interesting monuments in the Bay Area, offering many eye catching and breathtaking views. I thought I would share my photographs with you. As you can see, Northern California’s beautiful spring has already started painting everywhere green. If ever your travels place you on California Highway 1 toward Half moon Bay, you should visit the Pigeon Point Lighthouse. Don’t miss the chance to see the world through this unique vantage point! I think I was 18 or 19 when I had my first lesson in Tehran.
As a first timer or a trainee you get to seat in front while the trainer who has the controls is in the back seat untill you gain your wings "flying solo".
The canopy is as wide as your shoulders, almost no nose to distract your view! IT'S ONLY YOU.........and the scenery around you, and..... silence!
no engine noise, no worries about all that "dang o fang", just enjoy the ride!
A 15-20 minutes flight leave a lifelong impression!!
Try it.
I'm jealous
by Jahanshah Javid on Sun Mar 01, 2009 09:15 PM PSTI love flying, at least as a concept! And I've always been curious about flying on a small plane but never have.
Have you thought about becoming a pilot? It's one of the best skills/professions I can think of.
Mankind's dream
by Majid on Sun Mar 01, 2009 11:53 PM PSTFlying is one of the most fascinating feelings that there is, especially in a small aircraft, and to top it off, if you're in the front seat, and have the controls, it's you, the short nose, and nothing else! Just like a bird! (you can hardly see the prop when airborne)
When banking, you're stationary! The earth sways side to side.
Roll... loop...OMG, That's an out of this world sensation altogether!
When landing, the earth is coming straight at you!
But you can't beat the helicopter experience!
When you take off vertically you're not lifting.....your surroundings SINK!!...LOL
I envy you, Payam!

I
Love
Lush green lawn
And obsessed with it
To make sure
There is not a tiny single spot left
Be barren or bald
And since this is almost impossible
With the existing means at my disposal
The only refuge I have
To overcome my obsession with green lawn
Almost on the border line of madness
I to raise my head up see the blue sky
As my light blue lawn
With cloud patches gently moving
To turn it utterly immaculately dateless

I envy you
