"Pleasant is Shiraz and its incomparable state!" Thus sings Hafez, the greatest Persian lyrical poet about his beloved hometown. The pictures in this album were taken during my recent visit to Shiraz and among the different sites are The Hafez Mausoleum, The Karim Khan Citadell, The Nasir al-Molk Mosque, The Vakil Bazaar and Mosque, The Khan School and The Tomb of Rouzbehan Baqli

That's my hometown. We were wine makers, now we have switched to vinegar (unless trusted, we can also provide wine). The city of Flowers and nightingales :)

So unbelievably beautiful. It's like jewel. The evolution and the perfection of Sumerian-Assyrian-Babylonian architecture through the original Persian essence and genius. A school of its own the world over. Wonderful. Thanks for sharing.
