There is no pleasure to me without communication: there is not so much as a sprightly thought comes into my mind that it does not grieve me to have produced alone, and that I have no one to tell it to.
-- Montaigne
As most of my work has often been described as "with a quirky sense of humour", I sincerely hope you will find pleasure in the photos, as I take the greatest pleasure in creating them.
I Studied combined Philosophy and German at King's College, London, and Photography in Paris at L.E.F.E.T (Ecole privee de communication visuelle), S.P.E.O.S (under Anna Strickland) , privately under Philippe Bachelier and Sozial/Portraitfotografie at Medienkulturzentrum, Dresden under Christine Starke.
I use a fifty-year-old Leica M3 to take photos, then develop the film and hand-prints myself on double-weight baryta paper and very rarely crop before scanning them to upload on the internet. The process is the classical approach with tremendous time and expense involved, which is why original hand-prints tend to be on the seemingly dear side.
To purchase original hand-prints and signed by myself with some limited editions of 15 with very few left, please see my portfolio at AbsoluteArts.com. For a wider range of digital prints (including my obsession with hydrants and sprinklers), please visit my online gallery at ArtistRising.com. Accessible Giclee prints are available on (US and Europe) at EastArt.com. For further information about the significance of the bra, please see interview.
Brits, beware! Some of the giggly bras are coming out as postcards very soon!
CONSTRUCTIVE criticsm is very welcome. Thanks.

Surely "overwear assemblage" would inspire Jahanshah to an even more humerous title?
The next series
by Alborzi (not verified) on Thu Apr 03, 2008 06:06 AM PDTUnderwear collage. It will be a hoot. In fact for
greater effect you can combine them, now thats art.

Lale Shahparaki Welsh, 'pleased that you like them. Just had a look at your site, which looks quite interesting, especially since I know one of the photographers and will get in contact. Thank you.

Ode to the Bra

I see you every day,
But I seldom stop to think about how you feel.
I know your daily chore is very real.
Why do I own so many of you? Why am I always in search of one, better than you?
You’re not a man!
You must hate me.
How easily you can be replaced…
And you know I enjoy it when his hands unbuckle your chastity belt. I don't hide my joy from you, khodemunim dige...
The treasures you nest are the best, at least I think so.
But, you probably want to fulfill a bigger destiny.
How does it feel when bigger mammaries pass by?
Are you prone to jealousy?
Love me please, no matter what.
Don’t make me adjust.
Protect me from the embarrassing cold.

by Marjan Zahed-Kindersley (not verified) on Wed Apr 02, 2008 12:40 PM PDTI'm very sure about the series, hence the name of my company "Bravissime" -bra+bravo + female plural= bravissime - the bra also has 'friends'....
But by all means, enjoy yourselves coming up with your own title(s). I'm not 'hung up' about it. ;)

by Anonymouse on Wed Apr 02, 2008 12:13 PM PDTWhile I can see Well Hung as a good title, I don't see anything well hung per se, except the imagination of fire hydrants which are NOT well hung :-) My choice would be something like Bra Art or maybe Bras At Work.
I've seen bras flicked around landscape as souveniers or momentos and stuff, so it is interesting to notice.
Since you are not sure of a title for a series like this (the ones with the bra) let's ask for suggestion.
Everyone, what would be a good title?

by Marjan Zahed-Kindersley (not verified) on Wed Apr 02, 2008 11:55 AM PDTThe bra is part of my company "Bravissime". The titles of each photo are on the other site links.
Jahanshah put a selection of my work up. He pobably got a headache going through hundreds of them. ;)

by Anonymouse on Wed Apr 02, 2008 11:44 AM PDTAs the photographer who made this series, what would be your title for this series? I think we should go by artist's title not someone else's. You choose.

by Marjan Zahed-Kindersley (not verified) on Wed Apr 02, 2008 11:26 AM PDTThat might be Jahanshah's Freudian 'slip' or referring to hanging the bra or posters....
Well hung?! huh
