Come on JJ. He was a great contributor. He had good observations and good understanding and grasp of issues and wrote good blogs. What did he do to get blocked? I didn’t see him in a fight with anyone. You keep getting rid of these good contributors and soon you’ll be left with “fati and hozesh” as we used to say in the old country.
Come on dude, please give the brother a break and reopen his account.

AO jaan, tell the truth: we're the same person :-)
by AMIR1973 on Fri Sep 23, 2011 02:47 PM PDTI have also been accused of being AMIR1973
You actually are me, aren't you? But seriously, I am flattered by the comparison cause you're a good contributor with blogs and responses that I enjoy reading. Keep up the good work AO/Amir 1973 :-)
TS9 Jaan - very funny
by Anonymous Observer on Fri Sep 23, 2011 02:40 PM PDTYou know, these online detectives who specialize in multiple ID discoveries are funny. Do you know how many times I have been accused of being other people? On one of my blogs, Q was screaming on top of his lungs that I was Oktaby, because Oktaby was arguing with him on the same blog. Then I looked at Oktaby's post, and it looked as if we lived in different time zones! I have also been accused of being AMIR1973, Fesenjoon and various other people (there was someone else recently as well that I was accused of being somewhere, but I forgot). At least I am in good company. Than God no one has so far accused me of being iranmilitaryforum.net!
Anyway, Simorgh has a very valid point. Why do some people get warnings while others are blocked right off the bat? Good question.
MK?
by Anahid Hojjati on Fri Sep 23, 2011 01:39 PM PDTdon't get this.

I saw that too
by Anahid Hojjati on Fri Sep 23, 2011 01:35 PM PDTthat someone called RG an agent and I was surprised.
lol SK
by Truthseeker9 on Fri Sep 23, 2011 02:36 PM PDTI'm sorry to hear that. :)
My claim to fame is I was called "Failed Poet" as a foosh once. Though I know NOTHING about poetry. One of the best insults I've ever had. :)
but I'm sure we've all said a few things on IC that Admin has let us get away with too.
I think Simorgh made a good point. Recently I saw RG at receiving end of a lot of provocation. Was called olagh, and another time it was Simorgh, Roozbeh and Fred as a group being repeatedly provoked, from one blog to another. I even made a comment to Admin about it to remove these provocations and distractions. Many accusations to Roozbeh remained although being flagged, this would have made him upset. Some people here know how to make others angry and riled but do it short of profanity to get away with a lot of abuse.
Uffff, why RG ?
by Rea on Fri Sep 23, 2011 01:21 PM PDTInformative comments, different angle, pity.
Could be because somebody on another blog suspected him to be a Mossad agent? So, Admin decided to strike preventively by kicking the undercover agent out, lool.
Definitely, "banned of the day".

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Fri Sep 23, 2011 01:14 PM PDTYou are most welcome and I mean it. There are some IDs here who sound very much like each other. A person says something; the other one seconds it; the third one follows!
I have noticed some IDs who for no reason whatsoever do not like me. Then I wonder how they sound just like another ID that I had an argument with. Anyway just speculation.
Simorgh
by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Fri Sep 23, 2011 01:08 PM PDTI am not sure what the reasons were. RG and I got pretty close to a fight. I know he and Baron were going head to head. Maybe that is what happened and it escalated into a name calling match. But this is just my speculation,
The good thing about an explanation is it avoids speculation. We would know beyond any question what happened. Anyway I put in my two cents and am moving on to other discussions.

by Soosan Khanoom on Fri Sep 23, 2011 01:26 PM PDTyou said " He was one of my favourite contributors, a decent guy......I am just saying I will miss him as a contributor. He made informed comments and to me always a gentleman...."
He was not a gentleman to me .. he once called me a " 200 pounds Basiji Man "
Never mind the Basiji or a man but 200 pounds ?!!... come on ... for God's sake ... which gentleman call a woman FAT ?... LOL
For this alone he needed some time out ... so thank you JJ jan
In his abscence ( hopefully temporary one cause i miss fighting with him) we should have MG as the IC's president of the socialist Committee cause unlike RG ... MG is a gentleman ...

by Simorgh5555 on Fri Sep 23, 2011 12:41 PM PDTI am not going to berate Admin for banning Roozbeh as I have been mercifully allowed back on this site. I think we all can hazard a guess as to the reaosn why we are given the boot but I am perplexed about why Roozbeh has been ousted. Roozbeh certainly had vehement exchanges with some users but I do not recall him using profanity or enagge in personal attacks to a large degree. If anything, Roozbeh was constatly atatcked by the likes of Baron Avak who is remarkably still allowed to post on this site.
Jahanshah does not give warnings and Its not for me to judge but I will say one thing: When Niloofar Parsi decided to go beserk and leave Iranian.com by her own accord she mentioned that she was given a warning by Admin that she would be ejected from the site unless she behaved.
If such a precedent was set by Admin with regards Niloofar Parsi then surely a long time user such as Roozbeh -taking into account his massive contribution to this site- should also had been given a warning by admin.
Maybe he did. Maybe he didn't. I don't know but Roozbeh wherever you are, Iranian.com will be poorer without you. Depsite the fact that he was a socialist and I am a monarchist it is remarkable we agreed on a lot of things .

A Very Sad Decision
by Masoud Kazemzadeh on Fri Sep 23, 2011 12:08 PM PDTIn my opinion, Roozbeh Gilani is one of the most decent and erudite contributors at IC. I am able to read only a handful of the posts. I always try to read as many as RG’s fantastic blogs, news postings, and comments as I could. I have learned a great deal from Roozbeh and wish to acknowledge my debt to him.
I hope that the Admin would reconsider and re-instate one of the main contributors. This place would not be the same without Roozbeh. And I hope that Roozbeh would graciously agree to come back and enlighten his fans and friends with his presents and his wonderful contributions.
This site has been and can be very harsh. Moderating such a site is a truly tough job. I sincerely hope the Admin would change the decision and welcome back Roozbeh.
Masoud
Dear TS9,
by Anahid Hojjati on Fri Sep 23, 2011 12:01 PM PDTi am not interested to discuss in detail why real names matter to me. any way, issues like this are admin's responsibilty not mine so i prefer not to get too much into them.
.........
by yolanda on Fri Sep 23, 2011 12:00 PM PDTI hope RG will be re-instated soon! He is a great contributor, a nice guy, a person with integrity, and a patriotic Iranian!
Please bring him back NOW!
Isn't it Seriously ironic?
by AMIR1973 on Fri Sep 23, 2011 11:31 AM PDTThat one of the folks who approves of RG's blocking, is on her/his third (at a minimum) Iranian.com user ID. Go figure.
Anahid jaan
by Truthseeker9 on Fri Sep 23, 2011 11:49 AM PDTI dont understand why real names has come into it - real names do not matter with some, it is the quality of contributions and personalty. I care about everybody whether they use their name or not.
To truthseeker and AO
by Anahid Hojjati on Fri Sep 23, 2011 11:27 AM PDTI also remember great posts from Roozbeh.
My guess is since this blog is about why RG was blocked, that Admin will read the blog and the comments. So I think that I don't need to do more than this as far as addressing Admin with question regarding why Roozbeh was blocked. Also regarding people who don't use their own names, I am not like some users on this site. some users on this site seem to care more about people with fake names than those with real names. A person can have multiple user Ids and get sympathy and love for each one of them. I prefer to keep my real concern for those who use their real names.
Anahid
by Truthseeker9 on Fri Sep 23, 2011 11:14 AM PDTI am just saying I will miss him as a contributor. He made informed comments and to me always a gentleman. There are some people I do come to IC for and he is one of them, he has sound values, knowledgable and a nice person. many people are one or the other but to me he was a complete package.
(violin playing in the background)
Anahid - you will have to pose the question to the Admin.
by Anonymous Observer on Fri Sep 23, 2011 11:10 AM PDT.
It's not a big request, the site asks of us.
by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on Fri Sep 23, 2011 11:33 AM PDTWe can throw as many insults as we want and cuss when we right blogs, total 100% freedom. When we address the blogs we need to check our words and for the interest of being democratic/tolerant refrain from out right insults at each other. That gets rid of more people than you know. If we could instead be respectful it would not only not push people away, but attract people. The idea of a community to be able to have fun and personal attacks or profanity harm that.
I am constantly driving traffic using my face book friends & family and so far I have only 2 family that I see regularly doing the same. I ask myself why so few other people recommending articles and I think part of it may be to do with feeling safe. We all love the vast differences of opinions and expressions of each other which are in conflict as they make the site interesting, but we need to have a safe environment protected from open hostility if we want to grow and have fun.
I never flagged anyone, but have been the victim of many direct insults and direct attacks on my possibilty to have freedom. I would only want RG back on the condition that he be a lover in return and not insult others but just put forward his views. Calling people xyz which they are not is no fun if you are on the receiving end or even reading it.
My posts are a joke a lot of the time because I openly criticize the West which is wrong from many angles. Many here love the USA so I immediately come into conflict with them and look at what happens to people who oppose the west in real life. However, the ideal of being able to see all of the truth has me focussing on ideas that others would not put forward or see if I was not saying it, so I inject my ideas into the conversation wishing to help. I doubt RG was removed due to 1 indiscretion, he had to be doing it repeatidly.
Yet having a valuable point to share doesn't give me the right to diminish the possibility of others to have freedom by attacking them in person.
So if RG were so great - Maybe Admin should respond
by Anahid Hojjati on Fri Sep 23, 2011 10:44 AM PDTand like sun it was evident to all IC users that he was so great, why would he be blocked? Are you implying Admin is unreasonable or what? Was RG so great really?if yes, why was he blocked?
Let me voice my support for RG
by Bavafa on Fri Sep 23, 2011 10:35 AM PDTEven though I did no care for his often allegation/accusation of agent of xyz each time he found himself in disagreement with any given person.
He often times provided great blog and comment and hope to see him back soon.

TS9 Jaan - I hope he comes back soon as well.
by Anonymous Observer on Fri Sep 23, 2011 10:36 AM PDTHe was a good contributor. And I feel your pain also. Here, read what our old friend Fesenjoon wrote about the issue on the other blog. It's very true:

Sounds great Faramarz
by Anahid Hojjati on Fri Sep 23, 2011 10:21 AM PDTBut how about people who may have more than one user ID? Is it going to be noted that for instance Hassan Kachal got banned this week but his other user ID, sarkar Ostovar showed good behavior (by hi sabsence) and can come back?
In the Interest of Full Disclosure
by Faramarz on Fri Sep 23, 2011 10:19 AM PDTI would like to propose that Iranian.com start a new feature which I believe will be the most popular addition yet.
Every morning the Admin could publish a list of the people who were banned the night before with a brief description of their offense and the associated punishment. For example, "xxx in such and such blog called yyy an Islamist Homophobic and as the result he will be banned for 30 days. But if he shows good behavior while in time-out room, as in not try to come in with a different ID/Avatar, the sentence will be reduced to 14 days!"
We could also include a daily list of "most banned blogger", "never been banned", "almost got banned", "banned of the week", etc.
Hope RG comes back asap
by Truthseeker9 on Fri Sep 23, 2011 10:10 AM PDTHe was one of my favourite contributors, a decent guy. He may have lost his cool (I dont know what happened) but was not an abusive person. This place dirves you crazy, there are a lot of provocative people here and I have often said to myself "this is my last post".
Perhaps RG can register with another ID. Lets face it so many of the serial abusers do.
If it's any consolation
by Onlyiran on Fri Sep 23, 2011 09:49 AM PDTMola Nasredeen was blocked too. I miss Mola Felestin. He kept us updated on the events in every single remote corner of Palestine on an hourly basis. :-)
Seriously wrong question
by Tiger Lily on Fri Sep 23, 2011 09:50 AM PDTin your blog.
The correct question is : why wasn't that poster blocked before?
