Have you ever condemned the killing of children by Israel?

by B-taraf (not verified) on

This is a simple question. I condemn the atrocities committed by any regime against innocent people and it includes Iran and Israel. Now, do you condemn the atrocities of Isreal against innocent civilians especially children?

You can call us whatever you like but go ahead and look at your blogs. You are lost in the nostalgy of Pahlavi regime, always glorifying them. You are their mouthpiece on this website. Also, You maybe a closet zionist and not know it. Or, you pretend not to be one.

We stand for the human rights in all countries and not just Iran.

One more shot at this

by Anonymous-today (not verified) on

I just watched the clip of demonstration against China. So long as Afshin-jam's activities are focused on Iran one can't say much about her political bent. But when she demostrates against China's human rights abuses then you have to bring in other issues, like why not human rights abuses in the Occupied Territories and other countries not on US State Department's rogue nations list. Why this selectivity, if she is an "internation" human rights activist? Self-pomotion seems to be very high on Nazanin's agenda. Let's face it, she is not much of a singer and we don't know if she can act. These issues will keep her on the media. I've no isse with SCE; in and of itself it's a good thing, but enough already with the beautiful miss Afshin-Jam.

This demonstration is irresponsible - to say the least

by Mehdi on

One should not take action only out of hate, fear, revenge, upset feelings, emotion with no logic, greed, desire for fame or approval, desire for a hobby (see News Goffer's comment on how he thinks everybody needs something to make him feel good about life, and apparently this "cause" is simply something that gives some meaning to his otherwise meaningless life). You have to ask yourself what you will get from such a demonstration? Will you get the attention of decent and brave people and organizations who will take decent and proper actions to improve Iran or will this be used for Israel/neo-con cause to bomb Iran? Do you sincerely believe that this demonstration will help Iranians? How? The way Iraq and Afghanistan have been helped?

The situation simply is that there is a huge cultural, ideological, etc gap between Ahmadinejad and our own sexy Nazanin (I am taking these two individual as representing two groups). This gap could be filled with sincere attempts to bring about understanding or it could be removed by a violent action; by an antagonistic act followed by powerful military force (otherwise what good is it?).

Remember that when you start demonstrating, you have taken your first step towards an eventual war. Make sure your intentions are seriously decent. Make sure you have the power to control such antagonistic action all the way to the end in order to ensure it will not turn into something worse than it is trying to resolve (as in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, and thousands of other wars down the long track of history). If all that checks, then go ahead and bring that mighty army of decency and justice (otherwise known as neo-con/ZioNazi/capitalist/imperialist...) and destroy the evil from the face of the Earth (like it's been done during the past 2000 years;) I wish you good luck Robinhood!

It's paid by the same people who brought us Iraq war

by B-taraf (not verified) on

Mr Kadivar it doesn't matter to you if a child from Afghanistan, Iraq or Palestine is bombed or starved to death. All that matters to you is to promote outdate wothless Pahlavi family pictures and videos or anything that may help to demonize the Iranian government.

Why? because you know well that demonizing Iranian government may help the one who are planning to attack Iran. If you are worried about children and human rights start by critizing the criminal government of Israel. I want to hear it from you. Do you dare?

Human rights and Child executions you said?

by Laylaj (not verified) on

Why this Ms Nazanin who some circles are making her into a celebrity doesn't demonstrate against countries who bomb children and women? Read the news about innocent lives who are lost daily by American/Israeli and NATO forces all around the world?

A little too much Nazanin?

by Anonymous-today (not verified) on

I have no problem with celebrity being used for a good cause but isn't there a little too much emphasize on Afshin-Jam in the middle of of everything. It seems to me that Nazanin's celebrity status and her causes are feeding off each other.

Dear Darius

by News Goffer on

Any cause to promote awareness about Iran's violations of human rights is near and dear to my heart and I support it.  I wish for all those violations to stop immediately.

I am impressed by your passion about this cause.  Everybody needs to feel passionate about something really special and go after it.  There could never be "too many people" passionate about human rights.  Thank you for all your efforts and for raising awareness.

This demonstration's goal is to demonize Iranians and push for

by B-taraf (not verified) on

a bombardment of Iran and not for the advancement of human rigthts in Iran.If Ahmadinejad had not opened his big mouth against Israel this demonstration would not have happened either. Israel is the holy cow here and in Europe and nobody dares to criticize this racist apartheid government.

1. Look at the atrociteis committed by the American stooges in Middle East. How come nobody is demonstrating against them or Israel?

//news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/7617433.stm

2. Who is organizing and financing this demonstration? Who is paying for the transportations and hotel rooms for the demonstrators? Mr Kadivar go ahead and do a research and let us know.

Evolution, NOT revolution!

by Mehdi on

The problem with most of us is that the moment we think of Iran we want a revolution - change of regime. We have no idea at all how this could happen, hence the opportunity for imperialist warmongers to sell some weapons by offering to bomb Iran. If we could approach things from a more friendly aspect, as opposed to antagonistic aspect, we’d find plenty of opportunity to improve things in Iran. Right now, almost all who are involved in some sort of activism against the regime are doing so out of personal joy or profit and NOT for Iranian people. They want fame; they want to be a hero; they want their name in the papers; in short, they are not sincere about the Iranian people. Otherwise they would approach the issues from a friendly angle. This regime is fully capable of reform but there is no truly honest group who is wiling to work with them. They all want to topple the regime and therefore the regime fights back! We are the problem, not the regime! We need to throw away this idea of revolution and start improving what we have instead of calling for destruction and antagonistic approaches which means the same. Demonstration against Ahmadinejad is only going to make it harder for people in Iran! It will have NO positive effect. Maybe it will provide some fame for those who orchestrate it and give them hero status but will be damaging the Iranian society! Stop the creation of antagonism! Start being civilized and set a good example.

Why nobody demonstrate against the Israeli atrocities and crimes

by B-taraf (not verified) on

against humanity. The UN human rights report just came out stating the murderus policies of Israel against Palestinians that includes bombing and starving them.
//english.aljazeera.net/news/middleeast/2008/...

How come Mr Kadivar never mentions these crimes against humanity? Why? Because he is a jew on assignment from AIPAC?

Someone Asked me Why Demonstrate: MY ANSWER

by Darius Kadivar on

Someone on this thread asked me why bother to demonstrate with Nazanin or other people in the Public Eye.

Here is my answer if you don't mind me reproducing it here:

Actors are citizens like everybody else and concerned. They are neither superior nor inferior but have the advantage of being in the public eye and can help draw attention on issues of concern to us all since Tragedy and Comedy is their craft. Yes I definitvely think that they can help in terms of being the mediators between the civil society and the governing bodies be them national or international leaders, governments and organizations. Robert Redford ( see him as Iranian of the Day) or George CLooney are names that come to my mind immediately as positive role models. They can also draw the international media to regard a nations "people" AS precisely as "people" and not unidentified objects to be bombed or wiped out in total indifference. That makes their relative power and at the same time their fragility for if the cause is weak then they are also blamed even more harshly than politicians. It was Hollywood that reacted against the imprisonment of the Hollywood Ten during the Black List of Senator MCarthey. Actors playing gangsters, comics playing fools or sexy femmes fatals: like Humphry Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Danny Kaye to name a few reacted for civil rights

//www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3MlaFIzCw8

and later during the Black civil rights mouvment crusaded by Martin Luther King with such people often at odds in the political sphere but united on a common cause for freedom like Charlton Heston ( Before becoming head of the American Rifle Association) Marlon Brando and Syndey Poitier to name a few. AND IT WORKED !

I'm ready to take ALL THE BLAME otherwise if it suits you:

//www.youtube.com/watch?v=0bzJmnm7h1U&feature...

I don't say that artists In Iran have to do anything or take part if they feel in danger or indifferent but I definitively DO think that the Iranian Diaspora has this oppurtunity to use it and in particular in America where it has been a real tradition for all minorities to stand out for their rights. Today its the turn of Iranians and Middle Easterners to stand out on universal values.

All I am saying is that it will not hurt to TRY. Not Trying however will definitively NOT Help, change or retrieve anything from the current mess we are in anyways, so what have we got to lose? I ask YOU !

Now if you think that all I am saying here is to indulge in self esteem and narcism you are wrong for I rarely speak of myself but others in the public eye. I try to do my best to generate ideas and like any intellectual ( a term I respect despite the bad reputation it got amongst our Iranian intellegenstia as "AAN TELLECTUAL") is to ask questions, I do not always have the answers.

 So if you have another solution fine I am sure I and many others would be happy to hear you. What else do you want me to say other than wishing you :

Good Night and Good Luck
