Dear Mr. President-elect,
It is with a great pleasure that I offer you my heartfelt congratulations on your historic election victory.
This is indeed a proud moment not just for America, but for millions of others around the globe who have come to believe in and aspire for the kind of values that have become universally acknowledged as the hallmarks of American society. Your success is a remarkable reminder of the potential for promoting major change through the ballot box in a free and fair electoral process.
Mr. President-Elect,
The prospect for change as promised by you has already aroused a great deal of expectation from people everywhere who are hopeful of emulating your example by constructing societies based on peace, freedom, justice and opportunity.
No where is the desire for such change greater than in my homeland, Iran.
The people of Iran are perhaps amongst the most eager aspirants for the kind of values that have become synonymous with your success in the recent months. Iranians believe ‘that if allowed the opportunity, yes they will’.
It is their hope that with your moral and vocal support, they too can pursue their struggle for the realization of their individual liberties and fundamental freedoms along with the restoration of their pride and dignity as human beings.
Wishing you ever increasing success in all your future endeavors,
Yours sincerely,
Reza Pahlavi

Hi Saeed K!!!!!! I'm here I'm queer, deal with it!
by I Have a Crush on Alex Trebek on Fri Nov 14, 2008 12:53 PM PSTReza Pahlavi is a big (overweight) man who can defend himself. If be belongs anywhere, it's iranian.com. But he just sits in his little study and reads his e-mails and plots how to get that dumb crown on his head.

Nice Try; Same old Pahlavichi arguement
by Abadani (not verified) on Fri Nov 14, 2008 12:38 PM PSTAt first, your comment look like a novel arguement: being pissed at president Carter for his inaction after the Revolution. Then, I realized that you are pissed at president Carter because he was "instrumental" in success of 1979 Revolution! How execatly was he instrumental in the Revolution and why are you pissed at him? I suppose President Carter's "instrumental" role in Iranian Revolution may not be attributed to his "inaction" after the Revolution! No. It is what he did before the "success" of the Revolution.
Nice try! But you are pissed at him because he pushed for Human Rights before the Iranian Revolution.
I suppose reality really sucks.
If Obama was Iranian; what

Reza pahlavi's message, what a lame message!
by Observer (not verified) on Fri Nov 14, 2008 12:21 PM PSTthis guy does not have an ounce of leadership in him. Read his letter to Obama. Repeating the same old lame arguments dicated to him by "Mommy dearest".

I make my concluions
by Mehdi on Fri Nov 14, 2008 12:00 PM PSTReza definitely does not take any specific stand in his letter. My conclusion is that he is saying to Obama that if Obama decided to take out the regime (Reza's dream) then "blink, blink" meaning keep Reza in mind as a candidate for the next regime. If like some people say, he should not take a stand or should not give Obama ideas as to how to deal with Iran, then why he is sending a letter in the first place? If this is just an email from "average" people, then it has no significance here. He should have taken this opportunity to briefly state his opinion as to how Obama should deal with the Iran-US difficulties. Everybody's actions count. Why some people feel that you have to be a senator or something in order to make your opinion known, or have an effect on the future?
RP always hits a nerve with this crowd!
by Ironic (not verified) on Fri Nov 14, 2008 11:43 AM PSTSeems to me that RP always hits a nerve with the crowd in here.
If he's nothing, irrelevant and nobody gives a hoot about him inisde and outside Iran, then why on earth are you guys so interested in him?
Madame inquisitive Souri, maybe he is a closeted homo! how about that? haven't you heard of green card?

by ex-fedual landowner (not verified) on Fri Nov 14, 2008 11:08 AM PSTIt doesn't really matter if he is a US citizen or not.
Trita Parsi is not a US citizen either.
At any rate, I'm disappointed that RP's letter lacks substance.
Reza Pahlavi is not the sharpest tool in the shed.
Marge : interesting news
by Souri on Fri Nov 14, 2008 10:42 AM PSTI doubt that he is not an American citizen, but your point, makes sense to me. I'm just wondering then, how does he travel abroad ?
I know he is an immigrant in US, but he doesn't have an Iranian passport. His passport is still the on of Shahanshai's regime, which is not legally recognized by the other countries boards.
The question remain though, how then he can travel oversees?
Do you have an idea ?
Thank you.
Guys please do not take us for children
by Na baba (not verified) on Fri Nov 14, 2008 10:35 AM PSTI found this Marge character to be amusing at first but now I find her to be quite boring, talking so much nonsense, obviously having an agenda (in favor of IR)and everybody can see that.
Besides, Anybody can pretend to be anybody's supporter in virtual space.
A dose of fact
by Reality sucks (not verified) on Fri Nov 14, 2008 10:29 AM PSTMr. or Ms. Abadani
A lot of Iranians, other than Monarchists, are pissed at President Carter not because he pressured the Shah over the human rights issues in Iran, but because he went completely deaf mute over abundant human rights violations that took place in Iran after that God damn 1979 revolution in whose success Jimmy the Farmer was instrumental.
P.S. RP has absolutely every right to speak to anybody about Iran as you and I do. Iran is his country too after all.
Marge are you serious?
by IRANdokht on Fri Nov 14, 2008 10:29 AM PSTI didn't know he was not a citizen... I guess if he were then he would automatically not qualify for "the next Shah of Iran" position? or would he? :0)
Anyway, I have been involved in an email fight with one of his die-hard supporters who is arguing with me over Dr Trita Parsi and my support of him. I find it puzzling that Reza never advocates military attack on Iran but most his supporters fight you tooth and nail if you don't want Iran to be attacked.

Abadani
by Souri on Fri Nov 14, 2008 10:04 AM PSTPlease don't go overboard talking about what you don't know.
It is something to state your own opinion, it is something else to accuse people of things you don't know about them.
Have you ever read or listen to any of RP's speech ? If positive, then could you honestly say that he is to be compared with Kordan ?
If you hate him for being who he is, it's your choice. but labelling people with the lie accusation, dose not give you any credit.
I, don't agree with his political views, but at least have the deceny to consider him as one smart, educated and high standard political person.
BTW: Degree is not a sign of intelligence my dear, especially here in North America.
Dariush :
While I don't mind Reza Pahlavi's position regarding the Republican, I am interested to learn about his supporter's double standard values.
In the last paragraph he
by Abadani (not verified) on Fri Nov 14, 2008 09:37 AM PSTIn the last paragraph he refers to the hopes of Iranian people!!! Who is he to speak of Iranian people and their hope for Obama's "moral support"?
By the way, how is it that Pahlavichies still hate President Carter, for his moral support for human rights in Iran (back in 1978-79), and President Carter's human rights policy was, and stil is, labled as "betrayal of Iranian people" by Pahlavichies, yet Reza Pahalavi asks Obama for such support!!!
Reza Pahlavi has been marginalized in Iranian politics. Pahlavichies have yet to offer a single line of theory in support of monarchy. I have heard he holds a degree in Political Science (Kordan revisited).
That's All He can Say
by darius on Fri Nov 14, 2008 09:37 AM PSTWell ,at this point of time ,he is like any other Iranian group abroad
struggling to gain access to new adminstration .I doubt if he has any idea or clue whatwould be the policy of this country toward Iran. For now, all he can do is to congratuate him. Unfortuantely,it is not for him or any one else to advise America what to do with Iran,America deal with Iran only based on its national interest and the interest groups.
What difference makes if he is Republican or Democrat?
Is he a policy maker? Does his affiliation make policy maker to
listen to him? When the times arrive for U.S to decide about Iran
,Iranians have no other options but this saying,
Ashe khalate , bekhori pate ,nakhori pate.
There is no choice ,bu take it option .
To Mehdi : Don't jump to conclusion!
by Reality sucks (not verified) on Fri Nov 14, 2008 09:35 AM PSTJust because he did not take a stance does not automatically translate into him being for or opposed to Iran-US talks, besides it is not up to him to decide that. Is it?
P.S. talks simply for the sake of talks is futile in my opinion. U.S. and Iran have always had talks with each other during the lsst 30 years.
Reza Pahlavi
by Arde (not verified) on Fri Nov 14, 2008 09:04 AM PSTNice letter, but please remember, unless we Iranians strive for peace, freedom, justice and opportunity, NOBODY will hand them to us!
He didn't advocate talks or anything
by Mehdi on Fri Nov 14, 2008 08:50 AM PSTDisappointing to me that Reza did not take any stand. It seems to me he is not for Iran-US talks. What is the point of a blank congratulation letter? Waste of time?
dear Dariush
by Souri on Fri Nov 14, 2008 08:25 AM PSTThanks for sharing this news with us. I liked this letter's content and approve it as what was needed to be sent to BO from RP....
One question remain still unanswered, however. I asked it also in another thread but nobody could answer my question directly. Maybe you, would have an idea. Please enlighten us if you know the answer.
I want to know, what is Reza's position regarding the American election.
I have been told, he is a real Republican, and it seems to be true .
However, many of Pahlavi's partisan, are BO's partisan too. This, just doesn't add up for me. I would like to understand, how they see themselves in this equation and how they can explain this contradiction.
While the same people condemn Lieberman in his double standard, no one, take charge to make a clear statement about this point which is a greater concern for other Iranian who are not American.
Do you have any idea about this ?
Respectfully,
