Prince Ali Reza Pahlavi the second Son of the Late Shah and Shahbanou Farah took his life away in his Boston Apartment. This is a Day of Great Tragedy. May the Prince of Persia Rest in Peace along with his sister.
Crown Prince Reza Issued a Statement as follows:
It is with immense grief that we would like to inform our compatriots of the passing away of Prince Alireza Pahlavi.
Like millions of young Iranians, he too was deeply disturbed by all the ills fallen upon his beloved homeland, as well as carrying the burden of losing a father and a sister in his young life.
Although he struggled for years to overcome his sorrow, he finally succumbed, and during the night of the 4th of January 2011, in his Boston residence, took his own life, plunging his family and friends into great sorrow.
Once again, we are joined with mothers, father and relatives of so many victims of these dark times for our country.
Reza Pahlavi, Farah Pahlavi, Farahnaz Pahlavi, Yasmine Pahlavi, Noor Pahlavi, Iman Pahlavi and Farah Pahlavi

by Sohrab_Ferdows on Tue Jan 04, 2011 12:18 PM PSTI am not sure if there is any word or anything that could help to subside the pain of such magnitude for the mother and the rest of family.
I am not aware about the activities of Prince Alireza Pahlavi but foul play should be seriously considered and investigated in regard to his death. I hope the family can overcome and live through these sad times.
So sad

by Azarin Sadegh on Tue Jan 04, 2011 11:44 AM PSTI am speechless and I don't know how to express my sorrow...Such a sad, sad day for Iran...
But I can only send my love and support to all those who have been touched by this tragedy, and especially to my beloved Shahbanoo.
I wish her lots of strength, knowing a mother's heart would never heal from such terrible loss.
This is sad, especially sad when you have two of them.
by Esfand Aashena on Tue Jan 04, 2011 11:13 AM PSTWhen Leila died we heard more about her, I think here in i.com. So much was said about her that were told for the first time. I suspect we'd here more about Alireza as well.
He was well educated and didn't he get a PhD? Although a PhD in and of itself is not a good thing in my opinion and experience of people I've seen and know.
Perhaps he didn't get a chance to learn how to live normal and he ended up having to live a normal life and not knowing how, or having the confidence that he could.
My condolences to his family.
Everything is sacred
