Amir is sick and dying. A noble man, an eucator, husband and father to a son long gone. He was denied a visa last year to come to the US, visit with family and friends and say final good byes to his son at his grave. What makes an officer at an American consulate decide who's worthy to visit and who's not. I never met Amir but I will miss him. I would have met him if he was given the chance to come last year. That probably broke his heart too. I am sad for him and his brother whom I have come to know. I am not sure if his Iranianness had anything to do with this denial, but if it does, I think that's sad for us all. It did not used to be like this, it became like this. Peace be with Amir and his loved ones.
