May 15 – Newly inaugurated president of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev will have vested interest in "keeping the pot stirring". With tensions rising between Iran and the US, Russia could become more and more "in a place of confrontation of US policy" if the US attacks Iran or takes more action to isolate Russia's trading partner, says contributing editor of The American Conservative Eric Margolis. In today's interview with The Real News, Margolis talks about the stance on Iran and the US that Medvedev has just inherited, what this will mean if McCain, who has already labeled Russia as aggressive, is elected US president and why it's in Russia's best interest for the pot to continue stirring in Iraq.
