DAMASCUS, Syria -- A brazen car bombing near Syrian security offices that killed at least 17 people Saturday is raising questions about the regime's usually strong grip as the country tries to boost its international profile.

The explosion -- Syria's deadliest attack since the mid-1980s -- came only hours after Syria's foreign minister held a rare meeting in New York with his U.S. counterpart, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

Government-run television said a car packed with an estimated 440 pounds of explosives blew up on a road on the capital's southern outskirts, wounding dozens and shattering windows.

The blast also knocked down part of a 13-foot-high security wall.

Syrian Interior Minister Bassam Abdul-Majid called the bombing a terrorist act. He said all the victims were civilians, although at least one of the injured was a traffic policeman.

Officials provided no other details of the attack.

Serious attacks are rare in Syria, a country where the government uses heavy-handed tactics to suppress dissent and keep stability.

But the country also is home to Palestinian extremists and is a close ally of the Shi'ite Muslim militant group Hizballah in neighboring Lebanon. Washington has accused Syria of being a government sponsor of terrorism and allowing Muslim militants to use its territory to cross into Iraq.

Shini Head,, coward terrorist acts is a trademark of your beloved regime in Iran. Even when the U.S goes to war, it gives an ultimatum, and for example, in Taliban’s case, it wouldnt’ve even gone to war if your beloved Taliban would’ve gave your beloved UBL to U.S.

 

War mongering and car bombing and assassination is an invention of your hated -around the -world -furiously Islamic regime. Their survival is based on these acts. Their survival is based on instability in the Middle East. IRI is doing everything in its power, including sacrificing our beautiful country, for Israel and Arabs not to achieve peace, and is doing that using some of the most inhumane barbaric acts the world has ever seen.

Many others would think that the bombing was the work of Zio-Nazis. The reason would be that they are on shaky grounds in the ME today, in shambles economically, and under threat militarily even from Hezbollah in Lebanon. If there is a closure between US , Syria, and Iran (very much possible in the new US administration if O is elected), then the question for Americans would be why should they shove their TAX $$$s in a behind of bunch of stone-age Zio-Nazis who are hated by the world while America has such serious needs for the money at home?

Therefore, Zio-Nazis will do their best to create unstability in the ME, (Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq  included) so that US would be stuck and to still shove those $$$$s.

It is very likely an operation of the Sepah-e Pasdaran giving a warning to Bashar Assad that if he were to get closer to the USA the next bombing will be at his palace.

This is what IRI is an expert in: Mass Terrorism through car bombing; this is 95% the work of these criminal-terrorist mullahs. Those idiots on this BB who are rooting for these terrorist mullahs better open their "Babaghoori, Chappol" and "shining" eyes as to what is it that they are rooting for in the name of IRI: Pure terrorism.
