Although Western media and the United Nations have spent no time to it, the Iranian Parliament voted overwhelmingly for a law recently that would punish apostates, Muslims who change their religion, punishable by death. For some mysterious reason, the same media and UN find it of immense importance to talk about every negative development taking place in the West and especially Israel, but consider it of no importance what goes on in countries run by Muslim extremists, such as Iran. It seems that the new law may make its first victim rather soon. Ramtin Soodmand was arrested by Iranian police recently. His crime? Being a Christian.

Lets look at this issue
by Farhad Kashani on Mon Oct 13, 2008 03:55 PM PDTLets look at this issue objectively.
First off, the title is genocide against minorities, not just a minority. Second off, not every genocide is at the scale of Nazi Germany or Rwanda. After the Holocaust or Rwanda killings, there was still a portion of the targeted group left in the population. Its not like they were exterminated. Same thing right now in Iran. There are still Bahais and other minorities left, but lets examine what has happened to them, and what has happened to them is very similar to what happened to Jews in Germany and in Rwanda. Bahais have been targeted for extermination and I don’t think that’s something even the regime itself denies it. Read the recent news. Third off, ethnic minorities, not just religious minorities, have been targeted too. Look at what happened to Kurds and Balouchs. I’m not saying the regime is in favor of “Persians”, but, those two groups specially see themselves oppose the regime in every different way you look at it.
I agree with Ali P.
by Darius Kadivar on Sun Oct 12, 2008 03:20 PM PDTThe word "Genocide" is inappropriate here. We should not use words out of context for then it only contributes to the same type of banalization of history to which the Iranian President and current regime have been encouraging to do with their abject comments on the Holocaust.
No need to put Oil on Fire, the regime is already doing enough by its own exactions and this hanging is another example of its already intolerant nature.
Genocide?
by Ali P. on Sun Oct 12, 2008 12:10 PM PDT"Genocide aganist minorities by the regime" ??
As horrible at it is,"genocide" is just not proper to be used here.
