Monday January 12, 2009 saw Canada's government, as represented by
Stephen Harper's minority Tories, stand in defense of the mighty in the
form of Israel's military machine, currently chewing up the near
defenseless Palestinians trapped in Gaza.

Canada is concerned about Human Rights. Really?

by ghalam-doon on

This is the same country that is so much concerned about the Human Rights situation in Iran.

Dear John...

I see...

So you think Prime Mininster's response to the carnage that we're witnessing in Gaza was fair and balanced.

You also believe that Israeli response is fair and balanced.

And also Israel is defending itself against the so called rockets by using bombs, missles and God knows what else.

My impression is that you also beleive that only Zionists are in possession of all the facts.

One thing you and people who think like you should realize is the fact that we live in the era of information. That fair and balance argument does not work anymore. We did not expect Stephen Harper to expel the Israeli ambassador, but at least he could acknowledge the fact that what israelis are doing in Gaza is wrong. He could acknowledge the fact that murdering children and innocent people does not resolve the problem but instead exasperate it. He could vote with the other nations to send a signal to Israelis that nobody, including a western democracy is not happy with what is happening in Gaza. Instead he decided to save his own political skin and serve his Zionist masters.

We know for fact that Israel is a murderous state (should I provide you with pictures, videos etc.) We know they are committing genocide in Gaza.

So I see a double standard here. On one hand Prime Minister is very concerned about the human rights situation in Iran. But on the other, he thinks Israel has a right to defend itself against rockets coming from Gaza by killing and maiming Palestinian children.

You're right about the Israeli government. It is not composed of saints and angels. They are mass murderers and if there was any justice in this world, they should have been tried for crimes against humanity.

God bless

John

Uninformed and biased

Mr or Ms Ghalam-doon, if you would care to inform yourself before casting aspersions on Canada, what the Prime Minister stated was that Israel has the right to defend itself against Hamas rockets, which is true.  He did not say, nor does he believe, that warfare is good, or that Israel is composed of saints and angels, or that it is acceptable that civilians are injured or killed.

It is so typical of so many contributors to this web site, on all sides of all arguments, that they respond in a knee-jerk fashion to anything that catches their attention, regardless of whether or not they are in possession of all of the facts, or whether or not the sources of their information are reliable or even truthful.
