tuberculosis. Afghanistan is "nowhere", it's not a country, it's a pit in the ground. I honestly believe that the shifting geopolitical climate has been leading to a detente, which eventually will have to lead to a cooperation, because the Afghan issue is essential to both IRI and Obama for various reasons and neither can go it alone. And they'll have to cooperate, and soon.

But the Afghan people have been, and will continue to be, the ones who pay the price for quite some time.

The Afghans have been living a hideous nightmare for such a long time. It just breaks my heart to witness the desperation and not be able to do do much.
