VIENNA (Reuters) - An Iranian envoy on Wednesday held out the
prospect of a breakthrough in any talks about Tehran's nuclear work and other security issues if governments negotiate on an "equal footing" and without preconditions.
Underscoring a U.S. turnabout from a policy of isolating Iran,
Washington and five other big powers said on Tuesday they wanted direct talks with Iran to ease a deadlock over its refusal to halt nuclear work and open up to U.N. inspectors.

The real breakthrough
by Mehdi Mazloom on Wed Mar 04, 2009 01:01 PM PSTThe only real and genuine breakthrough in Iran will be, when this regime of 7th century creatures are replaced by secular, democratic and open government.
Iranian people deserve lot better treatment from the rest of the world, then what this despotic, Arab ass-kisser regime provide them with.
The late Khomaini had sent Iran 1000 year back, which is continued by the curernt regime. Now is the time to give Iran back to its people.
