But we are witnessing the breakdown of the american empire, just as the soviet empire collapsed. As the dollar falls in value, keeping 1000 military bases across the world will become harder etc. Im gonna crawl out on a limb and say that we cant say anything about US stability until the crisis is over with.

I know that he said the same thing last year. But relatively speaking Russia is doing a bit better than US, this was according to an analysis I heard the other day in NPR.

Sorry could not find the reference , it was an interesting analysis.
