Mostly because Mullahs got a lot of money to spare
by My two cents (not verified) on Fri Mar 06, 2009 05:44 AM PSTAnd Afghanistan's reconstruction needs quite a lot of money. of course mullahs are already spending a whole lot of money (the weapon of control) there to increase their influence in Herat and elsewhere, buying off a lot of war lords and tribesmen.
Secondly, this is part of the engagement that Obama was talking about which had already started by Bush, believe it or not, and in spite of his "Axis of evil" remarks.
