JERUSALEM (AP) — Israel's Supreme Court banned a Palestinian human rights activist Tuesday from traveling to Amsterdam to receive a prize.

Shawan Jabarin, the West Bank-based director of Palestinian human rights organization al-Haq, had hoped to travel to the Netherlands on Friday to receive the "Geuzenpenning Prize," a human rights prize, on behalf of his group.

we understand each other. As I have posted many times before. I lived in Iran, Israel & US. I know Iran's (Thus the Islamist) cultural, and mentality. The same is true for Israel.  I know the Iran-Israeli differences inside out. It is  hard for others to come here and load me with BS about the benevolent Mullahs in Iran, or the pretentious victimized of Islamist like Hamas, or Hizbollah.

Just to remind you. Gaza is not occupied by a single Israeli. Yet Hamas is the one attacking Israeli civilian center. Not the other way

Unfortunately you perhaps have lived only in Iran & US. Not in Israel (yeah I read you have friend in Israel. They all have "friends") , to see for yourself what Israelis really think. Their hopes and aspirations for peace with their neighbors.

It is thugs like Hamas leaders backed by the Mullahs which oppose any peace settlement with Israel, short of total annihilation of the Jews in Israel, and loot their properties. Otherwise they would not provoke Israel with rockets,  You will not convince me about Hamas's intention of anything else except war and destruction of my country.

Just read Hamas own Charter to see what I mean.

In regards to Iran being demonized in Israeli publications. My good man, had Iran been a security problem  ONLY for Israel, somehow I could buy your argument. The Mullah pose prolem to all its Arab neighbors, and the West.

Point of the article

by capt_ayhab on

The point of the article is that IF the guy is a known terrorist, why in the heavens that international body has awarded him with the prize?

Besides, at the absence of the court documentation and the formal charges by the court, why would Israeli government detain a so called terrorist for only 9 months? doesn't that raise any eyebrows?

Mazloom Agho, problem with you is that you did not get the gest of the story.

I appreciate your concern and constant support of me[not my ideas]. You of anyone know very well how I fell about this whole deal. I have made it clear time and time again that I have nothing against anyone here, it is the opinions that I deal with.

As to Israel, I am 100% opposed to their policies, but have great deal of respect for the Jewish nation, who have been through enormous pain in their history. I do expect same from anyone who posts here, being Jew, Muslim, Christian, Baha'i or otherwise.  However one thing I SHALL never stand for is oppression in any form, being IR, Zionist, or GW Bush. I am way too old for not to speak my mind. ;-)

To me that part of the world represents great deal of concern. In one side we have IR loonies who basically show no regard to any human rights in the country. In the other spectrum we have Israel, which considers Iran her arch enemy. You can not read one website, newspaper from Israel in which there is not a call for booming Iran, or demonizing Islam. I have friends in Israel as I have family members in Iran, any action or reaction will be devastating for both countries. But unfortunately neither of the leader seems to realize that. And here in this site, we have people , Iranian or otherwise, who constanly are calling for war on my country.

Asides form this, I do not take it kindly when gentlemen like Mazloom, who ceases every opportunity to demonize Iran and Iranian, for which I have presented proof to you in a different blog.

Now If Mr. Mazloom have problem with dealing with the truth, that is his problem. What I post here are news and so far I have refrained from posting my personal opinions. These guys need to realize that Israeli blockade of news in world and USA has gone far enough. What ever bad publicity there is, Israeli government has brought upon themselves.

In a nut shell, Israel has only herself to blame for all the negative reaction they have been getting from the people around the world.

Regards

evidence

by anonymous fish on

does "real" evidence mean enough to convict him of something?  i'm all for detaining terrorists from traveling ANYWHERE.  but what does "real" evidence mean?  it seems contradictory to me that a man would receive an award for peace all the while being involved with a terrorist group.  i can hardly promote fairness or denounce anti-anything if i don't expect it from myself AND those i defend.

Besides my inexperienced friend, if you think for one moment that I will sit silent when YOUR country and likes of YOU constantly make a point of demonizing Israel and Jews, and constantly propagating attacking Israel and killing Jews, you have another thing coming.

you don't think mehdi feels the same way?????

You wrote:

Wrong. I have never logged in with 2 different name. You will have to bring some credible evidence for me to respond.

Quote:

YOU constantly make a point of demonizing IRAN and IRANIANS,

Again you are uterly wrong. the only one I demonized and will contiune to do is the regime in Iran. Not the people of Iran. I always defended their right for freedom of expression. Check your facts before you throw mud on others.

Mehdi Mazloom

You still wonder why?

by Mehdi Mazloom on

capt agha. Com'on, admit it. You are an Israeli agent on this forum. Even a "Zionist" like me can't compete with your pro-Israeli posts.

For example. the article explains exactly why Israeli supreme Court, known for its fiercely independence, did not allow him to leave the country. And you are so generous enough to bring it here.

Can you teach me some of your pro-Zionists" tricks so I could be as good as you are in presenting Israel's pov.

Excerpt from the article:

But spokeswoman Ayelet Filo says the court ruled there was "real
evidence that he is involved with terror organizations, and therefore
he will not be allowed to leave for security concerns."

In 1985,
Jabarin was convicted by an Israeli court of activity on behalf of the
radical Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. He served nine
months in prison. Israel put him in administrative detention in 1994,
charging that he was still active in the PFLP, and has stopped him from
traveling several times, according to Israeli documents.

Again, thanks for the pro-Israeli post.

Why does truth hurt you so much? is it because you, by reading my posts have realized that everything they feed you may not be all true?

But honestly, your are way too funny, but lack substance. Because I have noticed you have been resorting to childish tactics of logging in with other names and trying discredit the stories that are published in your own home countrie's papers. Remember dude, I do not make the news, I only post them here. So if you have any problem, pick up with your authorities and not me.

Besides my inexperienced friend, if you think for one moment that I will sit silent when YOUR country and likes of YOU constantly make a point of demonizing IRAN and IRANIANS,  and constantly propagating attacking Iran and killing Iranians you have another thing coming. Do not elude yourself my friend, No amount of intimidation will deter me from talking the truth.
One last thing pal, keep your childish innuendos, name calling and games to your kind, they do not work with me. Get it?

People who know me, including some of the ladies and gentlemen here in this site, know that I have paid my dues for my country and have always spoke of truth.

being a fair person

and always liking to see both sides... i would wonder why they wouldn't let him travel.  being suspicious is one thing.  if they can't and haven't proven anything, i'd think it would be unfair to penalize him from receiving his reward.  it's for peace, for gods sake...:-)

if there is more to it, let it come out.

mehdi... LOL.  i can't help but laugh, that WAS funny.  i'm hoping to get an answer from captain on another blog and until then will withhold any judgement.  i have much respect for him and kinda wish he'd explain why he's so interested (if not obsessed) with posting about israel all the time.  surely there is more pertinent information or news about iran that could be shared... :-)

anonymous.  a big ROFL to you as well.  i was thinking the exact same thing.  it's my new word to describe a k--kohl.  :-)

Even the anti-human-rights-IRI allowed Dr Ebadi to travel abroad and accept her Nobel prize.
So much for Israel being a liberal democratic entity!!!

capt agha, you seem to be infatuated with Israel. Thanks for the post promoting the virtues of my country.

Much appreciate your hard work for promoting the freedom and social progress in Israel. I am (almost) embarrassed with all this attention.
