two points

1. If one examines the elections in Israel, whenever the Palestinians resorted to violence against Israel, citizens there responded with electing right wing ass-kick candidates to lead them.

This latest election is no different, and came in response to stupidity of Hamas, and its useless rockets against Israeli civilians.

2. speaking of dealing with Arabs through strength. Some of you must be joking. with due respect to moderate.  Just witness how Arabs and most Islamic countries settle disputes with each other, to understand what the Israeli official was saying.

When you are strong, the chances of being respected by Arabs (and the Mullahs in Iran) is bar far greater then being weak.

Some people on this earth, you can't afford to show them weakness. Otherwise they will eat you alive. Hamas, Hizbollah & the Mullaha are prime examples.

Inappropriate language

I forgot to mention in my last post that the langauge of the previous poster is ugly and demonizing itself, no better that the "blood sucking Zionists." Regardless of what has been done by the state of Isreal and whether or not its actions has been condoned or supported by its citizens, they are human beings too and categorizing them all as beasts and other hyperventilated language is just as ugly. I don't see the poster making a distinction between Lieberman and the average Israeli or even average Jew.

Here is what I don't understand

If the US and the EU refuse to deal with Hamas, in spite of the fact that they happen to be elected in at least at the time assessed to be a free election, because Hamas has refused to out and out recognize Israel or disavow any act of violence against the Jewish state, then why is it when an openly racist, anti-peace coalition partner has been appointed the point man for Isreal's foreign policy, Isreal is not threatened with sanctions or threat of suspension of relations or withholding of US foreign aid? I think we all know the answer. Decades of illegal land annexation, ethnic cleansing is the precedence. The US and the Europeans are fighting their last colonial war.
