محمد مایلی کهن، سرمربی تیم فوتبال سایپای کرج از سوی فدراسیون فوتبال ایران به سرمربیگری تیم ملی ایران منصوب شد. این انتصاب پس از برکناری علی دایی سرمربی پیشین از این سمت، در پی شکست تیم ملی فوتبال ایران در مقابل عربستان سعودی صورت گرفت. پس از برکناری علی دایی، همراه با محمد مایلی کهن، نامهایی چون امیر قلعه نویی، افشین قطبی، محمود یاوری و افشین پیروانی نیز برای هدایت تیم ملی ایران مطرح بود.

He did good before. The problem with the Iranian team e melli is that they don't give the coaches enough time and opportunities. He won the games that he was suppose to win and lost the ones that no one thought Iran could win. That's good in my book. You must win the games that you are suppose to.

I think he is a good couch and he plays different games with a decent defending strategy.

And for the sake of the world cup 2010, let's all hope that I am right.
