WASHINGTON, April 9 (UPI) -- Washington has the soft-power tools
necessary to effectively deal with the foreign policy challenges posed by Tehran, an analysis said.
A lengthy report by political scientist William deB. Mills for the
analytical group Foreign Policy in Focus noted that Iran poses no
explicit threat to the U.S. mainland, suggesting Washington may hold
currently the soft solutions to handle the Iranian regime.

Aggression and compromise
by Anonymous Ampibian (not verified) on Fri Apr 10, 2009 10:50 AM PDTCome on YOU regulars! Stop scratching each other’s back. Give us instead a read worthy analysis of what is going on these days.
Why suddenly all those neo-con cheerleaders of the Bush doctrine of military terror in the name of liberation and democracy, were replaced by these late-blooming “soft-power” experts? Give us something deeper than “Election”, “Obama”, or “Netanyahu”.
Fish may not know that “flies” precede fish by a billion years. Been there; done that. So, we need more than “honey” and “vinegar” metaphors.
How about staring with her Israel’s “compromise” and Iran’s “aggression”?
but why
by anonymous fish on Thu Apr 09, 2009 03:10 PM PDTwould the relationship between iran and US depend on israeli compromises? what if the US in turn demanded that iran minimize HER aggression towards israel. but maybe we are...? i don't know. then again, maybe if iran were real chummy with russia or north korea, the US might set conditions for those relationships before renewing with iran. confusing. maybe you're right. yes, maybe you are.
Good to see you

In my humble opinion, It is time for Israel to face her own problem and instead of war rhetoric against each and every nation in ME, under the guise of self defense, to seek permanent and just peace treaty with Palestine.
Israel has been in war for past 60 years and it seems that with their latest election matters may get worse .

Solution to the Iran problem
by khaleh mosheh on Thu Apr 09, 2009 01:05 PM PDTI think, still requires some compromises from Israel and here lies the problem. The ruling regime in Iran will happily make a deal with USA which in reality will not be very costly to the USA per se and in fact a startegic alliance in certain areas will be most invaluble to America.
Thanks for the Article.
