Although, officially the campaigning for Friday’s vote will stop this morning at eight a.m., it will be hard to turn off the election fever...However, these rallies and gatherings have been observed only in the major cities. Mr. Ahmadinejad’s base support is in the rural areas, where it is hard to take a poll or get a general opinion. An estimated 15 million of the eligible voters reside in rural areas...All in all, nothing can be predicted for the 10th presidential election. .

elections everywhere... or anywhere
by another anonymous comment (not verified) on Thu Jun 11, 2009 10:14 AM PDTIt's interesting that the economy is the primary theme in both elections, in Iran and in the recent US election. And coincidence that both past governments (assuming ahmadinejad is defeated) are responsible for the fucked up foreign policy as well! I'd like to see both countries focus on their own respective recovery, for the people's sake. Cause it's for sure that no one has suffered more from either bumbling idiot than the people. And I think it's also pretty safe to say that no one more so than the wonderful PEOPLE of Iran who are infinitely more deserving of a response government.
