According to ABC news Middle East reporter Lara Setrakian, Neda’s memorial service, which was to have been held tomorrow, has been cancelled on orders from the government. She was buried today in Behesht Zahra cemetary. Here is the wiki page that has been created for her and a memorial page that someone built in her honor. Huffpo has this information on their liveblog:
>>>You do realize of course that this is psychological torture on a mass scale..Khamenei, our very own Mengele of the Mind.
But it should backfire. Because people will hate him even more. And they'll make their own mourning days, and they'll be sad, so maybe they'll turn those days into strikes and things like that instead of violence. Or...resignation.
Maybe.
Well anyway that's what I would hope for.
Actually these kinds of things are not just supposed to be talked about here. They're supposed to be DISCUSSED and hammered out and then go out into the blogosphere and be strategized. The problem here is that people are so used to just yakety yak yakety yak. And then always crying, but is the expat community even relevant at all to the future of Iran? Can it ever be?
Well now is the time that it could be. If the true potential and energy of this site were harnessed.
This is your golden opprotunity.
