In the conservative provinces of Mazandaran and Yazd, the number of votes cast exceeded the number of eligible voters, the survey by researchers from the University of St Andrews and Chatham House, the London think-tank, found. Four more provinces recorded turnouts close to 100 per cent.

Yesterday[Sunday] I heard in CNN that the speaker of the majles has admitted to wide spread fraud and ballet box stuffing.

Anyone can confirm this?

Very important point Khaleh Moosheh

I always suspected this and now there seems to be evidence.  "rural areas voting for conservative candidates is a myth".

Thanks for posting the full preliminary report of Chatham House.

Whose counting...

Who needs any "evidence of vote rigging"? This is not about votes any more. Correctly, Mr. Mousavi and others are pursuing the "legal channels" to prove themselves right. Obama has also spoken up by asking for "just" treatment of the people. Simply put, the Iranian people, at least a large percentage of them, are telling the regime, they are not willing to roll over and play dead any more. They have created that opportunity and they are taking advantage of it.

The schism in Iran's ruling elite is there for everyone to see. On the other hand Iran's economy seems to be chugging along. Therefore I don't think there will be any big change unless the Bazaar and Oil workers strike, just like the shah's time. One big advantage for the people is there is also a huge schism in the Sepah. Mohsen Rezaie's presence in the "debates" was not due to the fact that he thought he might win the election.

Sincere Condolence to Mr. Khamanie

Please accept our humble & sincere condolences on the sudden and untimely death of your Political Islam. After a short life span of 30 years it departed us and left orphaned its two love-childs, Homas, and Hezbulah.

Interestingly it also shows that rural areas voting for conservative candidates is a myth.
