Class Action Lawsuit
by t (not verified) on Wed Jun 24, 2009 09:33 AM PDTWe need to learn from the Jews, and bring a class action lawsuit against Nokia Siemens. Also, aside from monetary damages, violation of export regulations could carry criminal charges as well.
Deep packet penetration my ass
by mahmoudg on Wed Jun 24, 2009 07:55 AM PDTThose of us who are in the business of computing and have an inkling of knowledge about packet tracing know that this is hog wash and Nokia is trying to wash its hands from the situation. This was a business deal and they would provide any technology they deemed good business. What we are dealing with here, is the provision of encryption/decryption technology. Grant you that some of this technology is so secret that even the US government does not allow it to be used for any prupose other than National Security. Nokia has provided the Iranian government with the capability to intercept even encrypted messages. Let's remember it is not difficult to intercept data packets, that is easily done and does not need sophisticated equipment. it is the process of decryption and then tracing back the IP address to the point of origination that is tricky and needs expert hand, which Nokia and Europeans are providing to Iran. Iran and European comapnies have consistenlty broken the UN mandated economic sanctions and only now it is coming to surface as how much they are jeopardizing the region with their ill intended acts, not to mention the repercussions on the whole world, these actions bring.
