Following the release of the five Iranian diplomats, who were abducted in Iraq by US forces over two years ago, Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki threatens Washington with possible legal action.

"We reserve the right to legally pursue ... this action taken by the (George W.) Bush government," Mottaki said on Sunday as the freed Iranian officials received a hero's welcome upon arriving in Tehran.

"The US act in kidnapping the Iranian diplomats is in stark contrast with all international rules and regulations," he added.

Talk to me more about "developing" countries who resent the west.  The "west" in general or the US?  And that's assuming these developing countries are... what?  From where?  Why would any developing country have ANY suspicions about the West unless they have something to feel quilty about themselves.  I'm not sure where you're going with this.  Tell me more, chickadee.

Wait... was it you somewhere a LONG time ago that got offended about my using the word "chickiepoo" or something?  Maybe Marge.  Can't recollect now for sure but I know YOU know it's always a term of endearment and not dismissive.  :-)  not like a man using the word "hon".  I hate the word "hon".. no matter who it's used by.  Just a stupid word.

What in the world am I rambling on about?

cheney.

by rosie is roxy is roshan on

i'm talking about cheney.   :o)

another thing, i know what i'm talking about. developing countries have legitimate reasons to be suspicious of the 'west' and then when these international justice organizations privilege the west it spirals out of control. things like the failure of the world court to ever indict someone from a 'first world' country are exactly the kinds of things that give ahmadinejad his credibiity among those countries. otherwise do you think a chavez would want to make alliances with a religious fanatic?

believe me, the hague would do the entire planet a great service by indicting cheney. and he is old. he doesn't need to travel anywhere and he can't be extradited. so don't worry about his well-being.

lol

this gets old

and you want to know why?  because all I hear is "the us did this" or "american's are that".  so although Mehrdad did qualify her statement that iranian officials need to be put on trial too, it sems to be all about the criminal US.  why don't we start with a country who has been around a little longer... say... longer than 300 years.  let's go to italy and put a few romans in jail for their atrocities?  or we could wander over to rwanda to pay some huto's a visit.  what about russia?  those guys were REAL party animals back in the day.

no.  please dont waste your time listing our sins.  i've heard them all.  but if and when you do, i WILL compare our sins against our achievements ANY DAY OF THE WEEK.  especially compared with a few of the aforementioned saints.

so... roiban.  you want to throw someone to the wolves just to make a little global nice-nice?  :-)  why do WE have to offer up a sacrifical lamb first?

however.  if you're talking about cheney... i want front row seats at his hanging.

If the Hague

would choose one, just one, person from the US to indict for war crimes, i think t would as mcuh good for geopolitics worldwide as any other single act possibly could at the present moment. It would take away a lot of the opportunities for strong anti-West rhetoric about being so unfair and biased. And it is also a perfunctory gesture to the indicted because actually they cannot be extradited so all they would have to do is stay in their home countries. (Not that I care but other Western countries would. and probably wouldn't go for it if that were not the case. That is what I read about al-Bashir. I guess it means they can't go to any countries who are World Court members, so maybe they wouldn't even have to stay at home). I wish they would do that.

Normally I would say US or Israel but the simple fact of the matter is, having seen what I have seen and being sensitive to the issue, I am sorry to say that regardless of my views on the Israeli regime, which are well-known here, it would fuel the flames of anti-Semitism, which are already bad enough, beyond belief. US is as good a start as any.

Certain people who may read this can hurl whatever invectives at me they so choose for coming out and saying this, they are my whole point to begin with.,

Bavafa

I think they should

It is about time some entity sue this criminal Bush for his crimes.

Of course, likewise many of  the Iranian officials need to be put on trail and hopfully behind bars for their criminal acts against Iranian people.
