Washington, 23 September (WashingtonTV)—A human rights group said on Tuesday that it was circulating mobile billboards around New York City, depicting the Iranian government’s recent crackdown on protesters and rights abuses there.
The International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran is hoping to draw the attention of the diplomatic community on the human rights crisis in Iran, during Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s visit to New York to attend this weeks’ United Nations General Assembly summit.
The mobile billboards are circulating near the UN headquarters in midtown Manhattan.
Among the billboards is one showing Ahmadinejad and the words, “Murder, torture and rape: Hold Ahmadinejad accountable.”
