Shifteh, I read this piece and I got nowhere...

I am quite suspicious of pieces that are penned by a "jonbesh" rather than an individuals or a group of individuals that identify themselves.

That said, in the computer security science/industry there is the concept of "honeypot". A honeypot is a computer with unimportant or even fake info that is made "available" to hackers and crackers. The objective is to "herd" the attackers to a machine that you can monitor and at the same time keep them away from the real stuff.

Going back to the issue of these seemingly "important" people defecting to certain countrie, my hunch is some, not all, of those defections are not genenuine. It is also a known fact that intel has a shelf life. So if you were in a position of knowing top secrets more than a year ago, chances are what you know now is nothing more than stale info.

In case of Askari, he was s deputy in the Guards who was set aside for quite some time and the guy from the "sectret site" at Ghom was traveling, therefore his position must not have been so sensitive. Besides based on all the info about the Ghom site is still a hole in the ground!

So I'm not sure whether Amiri's loss has been a real loss to the regime. Only time will tell.
