A former UN weapons inspector is facing charges of unlawful sexual contact with a minor after being caught in an online sex sting, court officials have said. Scott Ritter, an outspoken critic of the war in Iraq, is alleged to have exchanged sexual messages with a police officer posing as a 15-year-old girl. The 48-year-old, who resigned in 1998 after seven years as a weapons inspector, has denied the charges.
"The allegations are that the defendant exposed himself and performed a sex act over a webcam," Deputy Assistant District Attorney Michael Rakaczewski, of Monroe County, Pennsylvania, told the BBC.

I am surprised that Scott Riter was even on TV anymore. That man is a
traitor plain and simple. Taking bribes from Hussein and Aziz? The guy
cares more about himself than he cares about getting the job done!
Here's one for you people who take that guy seriously, a few weeks
before the war started he was sorta pulled off the airwaves. You know
why? Because he had been to a chatroom and tried to lure a cop posing
as a 14 year old girl to his house for a weekend. I dunno bout you but
any pedophile has got a something wrong in the head. And I wouldn't
take his word seriously ever.
Oh and I don't consider everyone who disagreed with the war a traitor just Scott Riter.
Red herring
by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Thu Jan 14, 2010 08:55 PM PSTWhether he did it or not makes no difference as far as his abilities as an inspector go. I do agree that someone is out to get him. Somehow I have a hard time believing this was not planned.
They pulled the same thing on NY governor Spitzer because he was out to rein in the Wall Street bankers. In retrospect it would have been nice if Spitzer had succeeded. But they got him and USA taxpayers had to fork out 100s of billions to the bankers.
Meanwhile you got Italy where a well known womanizer is the PM and no one cares! Unfortunately in the USA we do trial by media. So the guy is already convicted and his work is going to be questioned. People should learn from Italy :-)
