Announced Successful Launch of Spacecraft Carrying Animals into Space

Iranian officials on Wednesday Feb. 3,
announced the successful launch of a domestically manufactured
satellite-carrier vehicle with a mouse, two turtles, and worms onboard. 

The announcement came during an official ceremony marking
the first anniversary of the launch of Iran’s first domestically built
satellite via a homebuilt SLV.

The new satellite–carrier vehicle, called Kavoshgar-3
(“Explorer-3”), included a life-support system and cameras to monitor
the condition and movements of the animals and to send back images from
the rocket’s exterior.

According to an official announcement, the 3-meter long
research rocket traveled "beyond the Earth’s atmosphere" and parachuted
back to Earth, with the animals still alive and in perfect condition.

* Mousavi is claiming success for yet another achievement of the greens

* The UN is urging a shuttle mission to save the green turtles since they are on the UN list of endangered species
