WASHINGTON, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- The top U.S. military commander Michael Mullen said Monday military strike wouldn't decisively counter Iran's nuclear program, calling on more diplomatic and economic pressures to be applied to solve the Iranian nuclear issue.
Mullen said in a Pentagon briefing that no military strike " will be in and of itself decisive," on the Iranian issue.
Instead, Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said he supported using diplomatic and economic means to solve the Issue.
Iran has been at the center of an international dispute over its nuclear plan. The United States and its Western allies have been accusing Iran of secretly developing nuclear weapons under the disguise of a civilian program. Iran has denied the accusation and stressed its nuclear program is only for peaceful purposes. The two sides are in a standoff as how to solve their differences.

Of course not
by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Tue Feb 23, 2010 05:52 AM PSTThe only thing that will work is a regime change. A military strike without a regime change is the height of stupidity. It will just piss off the Iranians both Mullahs and opposition. I said many times: an attack is a bad idea. But if they want to do it they better make sure if results in regime change.
A regime change on the other hand will solve all these problems. One led by Iranian nationalists will be good for Iran and for the world.
