French Culture Minister Frederic Mitterand Demands Jafar Panahi's Immediate Release

Frédéric Mitterrand a invité mardi les autorités iraniennes à libérer le réalisateur iranien Jafar Panahi, interpellé lundi avec sa famille au cours d'une manifestation, selon le ministère de la Culture. Le ministre appelle à la libération du cinéaste, qu'il qualifie dans un communiqué de "grande figure du cinéma". Jafar Panahi a notamment reçu le Lion d'or à la Mostra de Venise en 2000 pour son long-métrage intitulé Le cercle et l'Ours d'argent à la Berlinale en 2006 pour Hors-jeu.
