My point is that the rift
by benross on Sat May 15, 2010 12:33 PM PDTMy point is that the rift will not be that deep to be insurmountable. Exactly because of the geopolitics that you mentioned. I deeply believe that the sense of belonging to Iranian entity is deeply rooted in all Iranian minorities. Geopolitics outside of the country aside, no activist of minority in Iran can truly promote the well being of his people, by building an unending animosity with a much bigger adversary. This may show in rhetoric, but is not going to happen.
When Saddam invaded Iran, I was hoping for peace, while the Iranian territory was still under occupation. My logic then -and now- was that the territory will be recuperated because it couldn't be sustainable. The life of millions and complete loss of modern values in governance could not be recuperated.
"Bits and pieces of Iran will come back "
by comrade on Sat May 15, 2010 12:03 PM PDTThe geopolitics of our region, still favours Iranian wholesome sovereignty. However, one should not rely on a "natural" cohesion of the nation. If broken apart the different peoples of Iran, such as Kurds, Balouchis, Arabs, and so forth will not easily come back to a union, which almost always acted unilaterally.
There is no such plan. IRI
by benross on Sat May 15, 2010 11:47 AM PDTThere is no such plan. IRI legitimacy and authority faltered after the election and these are all the byproducts of an illegitimate and incapable regime. The focus should be undoing Islamic revolution. Bits and pieces of Iran will come back together accordingly.
AO: That is indeed the plan.
