Imam Seyed Ali Khamenei said here Monday that trust in God and self-reliance are as miraculous as liberation of southwestern Iranian city of Khorramshahr in 1982. Addressing a graduation ceremony for a group of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and the Islamic Republic Army cadets on the liberation anniversary of Khorramshahr, Imam Khamenei said the day marking liberation of the city is an unforgettable day in the Islamic Revolution and Iran’s history.

Imam Khamenei, who is also Commander-In-Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces, quoted the late Imam Khomeini as saying that God liberated Khorramshahr and said the Imam's remarks is the most delicate and wisest comment ever made on the issue because during Beit-ul-Moqaddas operations, which led to Khorramshahr's liberation, power of God Almighty empowered Muslim combatants.
